Default The Neverending Story (1984) – Film Analysis

These 80s cult classics do well for analyses. Vitrually all the classics children of the 80s like myself grew up with were loaded with deeper, esoteric symbolism, as our series has demonstrated, and The Neverending Story is no different. In fact, the more I contemplated it and researched it’s geist, the more surprised I was. The Never Ending Story, I discovered, was influenced by some of the more overt and bizarre strains of occultism in the previous century. The film is based on a children’s book of the same title by author Michael Ende, a German writer, whose works are influenced by Rudolph Steiner’s Anthroposophy, a German movement that split from Madame Blavatsky’s equally occult Theosophy, which influenced Nazi ideology. As the German biography notes there, Ende was also influenced by other pagan movements:
“Michael Ende hat sich in der Tat ein Leben lang für alle philosophischen Systeme interessiert, denen ein magisches Weltbild zugrunde liegt: “Edgars Sohn suchte auch bei anderen Weisen und Esoterikern Erkenntnis, in des legendären Christian Rosenkreutz’ Chymischer Hochzeit wie in des infernalischen Altmeisters Aleister Crowleys Manifesten, bei Indern und Ägyptern, beim Zen, in der Kabbala, bei Swedenborg, Eliphas Lévi, Sören Kierkegaard, Friedrich Weinreb.”
Which is:
“Michael Ende has a lifelong interest in all philosophical systems based on a magical worldview. “Edgar’s son was always lookng for other paths and esoteric knowledge, like the legendary Christian Rosenkreutz ‘Chemical Wedding,’ as well as the infernal old master Aleister Crowley, the Indians and Egyptians, Zen, the Kabbala, in Swedenborg, Eliphas Lévi, Soren Kierkegaard, and Friedrich Weinreb.”
Thus Ende’s worldview influences are clear. Anthroposophy shared many of the same new age notions of theosophy, but was banned by the Nazi party. Ende had attended a new age Waldorf School, which based it’s curriculum around anthroposophical ideas, both of which have United Nations affiliations.

What becomes clear as one researches this subject is the parallels between the United Nation’s globalist ideology, along with it’s parallel idea of a single, unified global religion as a tool of a superstate which replaces all previous nationalities and traditions, forcing everything into an amalgamated muck where individuality is lost in a collectivist blob, subservient to the deified world state. Amazingly, my articles still have commenters who dispute these public globalist policies, which have been known for decades. I even attended a new age-ish elementary school for the gifted in my younger years associated with UNESCO that enforced these globalist ideologies along similar lines to Steiner’s syncretic mysticism. Make no mistake about it, it is very real, very public, and very much an open tool of the globalists. I was surprised, however, the last time I watched this film how overt it’s paradigm was.


Back to the film. The Neverending Story presents the protagonist hero, Bastian Balthazar Bux, as the typical 80s nerd harassed by neighborhood bullies, raised by his single dad. Contrary to popular belief, having half of Simon and Simon as your dad (Gerald McRaney) isn’t as bitchin’ as you would expect. In fact, Mr. Bux is basically a dickhead. But what can you expect, when Simon and Simon ends and you’re in Neverending Story (and your wife has died).

Bastian and Atreyu's pagan, gnostic, occultic, eternal return, Ouroboros, the "Auryn"




Bastian awakes from a dream startled, and late for school, but this clues us in to viewing him as a “dreamer” as the opening sequence makes clear, when Mr. Bux says he needs to get his “head out of the clouds and keep his feet on the ground.” Bastian is chased by his bullies, and stumbles into an obscure bookshop where he meets a magician. The magus then tempts Bastian to read his occult wonderworking text, The Neverending Story, replete with an Ouroboros on the cover. As it turns out, Bastian is himself written into, and in the process of writing this story. In literature studies, this is known as metafiction, where the narrative is taken to another level–an appropriate usage in this case, since the view of alternate worlds and and all possible worlds comes into play. This is significant because the film is working from a paradigm in which notions of a multi-verse ends up necessitating that all possibilities are eventually made actual. The Ouroboros symbolizes this concept in ancient religions, as well as in gnosticism and hermeticism.


In fact, Plato included the concept of the Ouroboros in his famed esoteric work of cosmology, The Timaeus. Plato wrote of it:
“The living being had no need of eyes when there was nothing remaining outside him to be seen; nor of ears when there was nothing to be heard; and there was no surrounding atmosphere to be breathed; nor would there have been any use of organs by the help of which he might receive his food or get rid of what he had already digested, since there was nothing which went from him or came into him: for there was nothing beside him. Of design he was created thus, his own waste providing his own food, and all that he did or suffered taking place in and by himself. For the Creator conceived that a being which was self-sufficient would be far more excellent than one which lacked anything; and, as he had no need to take anything or defend himself against any one, the Creator did not think it necessary to bestow upon him hands: nor had he any need of feet, nor of the whole apparatus of walking; but the movement suited to his spherical form was assigned to him, being of all the seven that which is most appropriate to mind and intelligence; and he was made to move in the same manner and on the same spot, within his own limits revolving in a circle. All the other six motions were taken away from him, and he was made not to partake of their deviations. And as this circular movement required no feet, the universe was created without legs and without feet.”



In this scheme, it is a symbol of all created reality itself. The view of time and reality here is one of cyclical, eternal return, as it’s called. This is shared in common with Hinduism and ancient Egypt, and is a staple characteristic of pagan religions, in distinction to biblical religions, which view time as linear, with a progression, beginning and end, rather than time and history being a deterministic, karmic trap which must be escaped. In biblical religions, time itself becomes “redeemed” in some fashion. In paganism, time is a dismal illusion of determined, neverending brute force. Thus the film’s title. In the film’s paradigm, the ancient and occultic exterior doctrines of archetypes and cyclical, eternal return are internalized and psychologized, as for example, Hindusim does, as well as other occult systems. Carl Jung did this, for example. In this absurd scheme, the individual is himself the god creating the external reality, writing the whole narrative. This is precisely what is happening in The Neverending Story–it’s Balthazar’s neverending story of eternal return, which is the gateway to the supposed realization of apotheosis.


It is also very significant that the film includes the concept of sphinxes as gateways. This gets very complex and uber deep, but suffice to say this is also an ancient notion that is shared in numerous religions. Ancient Egyptian theology in particular placed emphasis on the sphinx as the gateway guardian to the temple. This same idea exists in Jewish theology, too, in regard to the Temple’s Seraphic and Cherubic imagery, in particular the Ark of the Covenant, as well as places like Eden. The Jewish Encyclopedia notes (aside from the article’s liberal bias):
“Primitive Hebrew tradition must have conceived of the cherubim as guardians of the Garden of Eden (Gen. iii. 34; see also Ezek. xxviii. 14). Back of this lies the primitive Semitic belief in beings of superhuman power and devoid of human feelings, whose duty it was to represent the gods, and as guardians of their sanctuaries to repel intruders. Compare the account in the Nimrod-Epos, Tablet IX.” (reference) The purpose of this article is not to prove conclusively how close Babylonian griffins were or Egyptian shinxes were to which angelic beings, and is outside of its scope. However, what is clear is that there are similarities and an association with the sphix guarding a portal or gateway ot the gods, as well as esoteric knowledge due to their riddles, and also an association with initiation. That is precisely their usage in The Neverending story, as well. Wikipedia explains of the sphinx in Freemasonry, for example:

“The sphinx image also has been adopted into Masonic architecture. Among the Egyptians, sphinxes were placed at the entrance of the temple to guard the mysteries, by warning those who penetrated within, that they should conceal a knowledge of them from the uninitiated. Champollion says that the sphinx became successively the symbol of each of the gods, by which Portal suggests that the priests intended to express the idea that all the gods were hidden from the people, and that the knowledge of them, guarded in the sanctuaries, was revealed to the initiates only. As a Masonic emblem, the sphinx has been adopted in its Egyptian character as a symbol of mystery, and as such often is found as a decoration sculptured in front of Masonic temples, or engraved at the head of Masonic documents. It cannot, however, be properly called an ancient, recognized symbol of the Order. Its introduction has been of comparatively recent date, and rather as a symbolic decoration than as a symbol that announces any dogma.” (source)

In The Neverending Stor Bastian has a “higher self” in the alternate world of Fantasia named Atreyu, a wild buffalo hunter of the “plains people,” somewhat reminiscent of an American Indian. In fact, Bastian has an experience of synchronicity when he first reads about Atreyu, noticing that he had placed a sticker of an Indian hunting a buffalo on a plain. The film chronicles Bastian’s pregressive realization that the actual story is about him, while Atreyu is also on a journey of self-discovery to realize that he is also Bastian, similar to something you would find in Stephen King’s Gunslinger series.

With the introduction of the Ouroboros, and then meeting the characters named Engywook and Urgl, who represent respectively science and superstition in tension, an alchemical angle. They aid Atreyu on his journey, but turn out to be bumbling and silly, showing the film’s thesis to partly be that those who only see reality as from a base superstitious perspective or from a naive scientism have not but scratched the surface of the true nature of reality, which is only to be found through initiation into “the mysteries.”
Many esotericists and gnostics took the perceived metaphysical statements about the gods and archetypes and internalized them into the individual psyche, thus psychologizing them. Alchemy was done this way too, and the alchemical process comes to symbolize instead an innner progressive realization of godhood. That is what is happening here. Bastion must realize that he is Atreyu, and vice versa. Once this realization occurs at the magic mirror gate, after the sphinx explains the mystery of Fantasia to Atreyu, Atreyu and Bastian see each other reflected in the mirror. In standard Jungian lingo, this is common. This is the mirror of the psyche, reflecting itself. In other words, Bastian is supposed to realize these are manifestations of his psyche, and then reintegrate them. Now, I think this is ridiculous, but there is something to all this. Synchronicity is real, and the inner worlds are connected to the outer worlds, but in my estimation all this needs to be purged of the gnostic notions of external reality being an “illusion.” It’s also manifestly false that reality is created by an individual’s mind. Solipsism is manifestly absurd and self-refuting.
The reason Atreyu is on his quest is to save the childlike empress of Fantasia, who is nameless. In many esoteric traditions, the concept of a name controlling and in some sense containing the essence of the thing, is fundamental. The Empress, we discover, needs a name. Atreyu doesn’t learn this until the end, but this is clearly working from the magian worldview, as Spengler termed it, where word and thing are intimately bound up in one another. This is also found in kabbalistic ideas, as well. Bizarrely, Bastian must rename the Empress, we discover, and it must be given the name of his dead mother, who we find out is called “Moon Child.” Bastian actually screams “Moon Child!” when Fantasia is imploding. “Moonchild” has the occult association with a novel by Satanist Aleister Crowley, as well as associating the Empress with Bastian’s mother, or the feminine sophia archetype. Indeed, research into the scheme Ende drew up for Fantasia includes the idea that the Empress is the feminine embodiment of the spirit of Fantasia. She is then the ‘soul of the world,’ or the anima mundi, in Platonic parlance. It is also interesting that she appears as a kind of Venus or Aphrodite, as well as with vaginal imagery. She is the virgin queen sophia, who lacks the male principle. This is why Atreyu more or less enters he chamber at the end. Naturally, in anything esoteric, there must be a sexual component.
Fantasia is imploding due to “The Nothing,” which is used to represent the classical idea of chaos, or Tiamat, existing prior to form being imposed upon it. In the cyclical pagan view, matter is eternal and form is imposed on it, being recycled after a few aeons into new forms, but since eternal means eternal, everntually all possible potentialities will become actual. Much of modern theoretical physics deals with this, in attempts to show that reality si a multi-verse, as well as that all potentialities are actual, and so on, in writers like Michio Kaku and Lisa Randall. Now I’m not saying all of this is incorrect–I think there are other worlds, but when it becomes a mere platform for promoting a pagan agenda under the guise of “science,” it’s manifetly dishonest.

So, in the end, the world implodes in on itself, because Fantasia is all of humanities desires and dreams. It is the astral realm, and Bastian figures out how to magically conquer it, reappropraite it into his psyche and become god of his own ‘world.’ When he speaks to sophia/Empress at the end, having ‘named’ her, he, as his higher self, had penetrated into the Empresses’ overtly vaginal throne room. It is here that she gives him a “grain of light” and tells him it is another genesis scenario. It is the beginning again, and all is darkness. The empress tells Bastian to make up a whole new world. Bastian is god. He takes the raw stuff of matter from the feminine principle, and imprints upon it form and order. A new order must be brought out of the old chaos. Bastion has opened the gatway/portal to Fantasia and brings his astral realm fantasies into the “real” world of the 1980s, riding that goofy looking dragon around and getting revenge on his bullies. So while much of the film is pure 80s cheese, the actual deeper, esoteric themes and subplots are some of the most overt and pagan I’ve seen yet.

Up to 300,000 Spanish babies were stolen from their parents and sold for adoption over a period of five decades, a new investigation reveals.

The children were trafficked by a secret network of doctors, nurses, priests and nuns in a widespread practice that began during General Franco's dictatorship and continued until the early Nineties.

Hundreds of families who had babies taken from Spanish hospitals are now battling for an official government investigation into the scandal.

Several mothers say they were told their first-born children had died during or soon after they gave birth.

But the women, often young and unmarried, were told they could not see the body of the infant or attend their burial.

In reality, the babies were sold to childless couples whose devout beliefs and financial security meant that they were seen as more appropriate parents.

Official documents were forged so the adoptive parents' names were on the infants' birth certificates.

In many cases it is believed they were unaware that the child they received had been stolen, as they were usually told the birth mother had given them up.

Journalist Katya Adler, who has investigated the scandal, says: 'The situation is incredibly sad for thousands of people.

'There are men and women across Spain whose lives have been turned upside-down by discovering the people they thought were their parents actually bought them for cash. There are also many mothers who have maintained for years that their babies did not die - and were labelled "hysterical" - but are now discovering that their child has probably been alive and brought up by somebody else all this time.'

Experts believe the cases may account for up to 15 per cent of the total adoptions that took place in Spain between 1960 and 1989.

It began as a system for taking children away from families deemed politically dangerous to the regime of General Franco, which began in 1939. The system continued after the dictator's death in 1975 as the Catholic church continued to retain a powerful influence on public life, particularly in social services.

It was not until 1987 that the Spanish government, instead of hospitals, began to regulate adoptions.

The scandal came to light after two men, Antonio Barroso and Juan Luis Moreno, discovered they had been stolen as babies.

Mr Moreno's 'father' confessed on his deathbed to having bought him as a baby from a priest in Zaragoza in northern Spain. He told his son he had been accompanied on the trip by Mr Barroso's parents, who bought Antonio at the same time for 200,000 pesetas - a huge sum at the time.

'That was the price of an apartment back then,' Mr Barroso said. 'My parents paid it in instalments over the course of ten years because they did not have enough money.'

DNA tests have proved that the couple who brought up Mr Barroso were not his biological parents and the nun who sold him has admitted to doing so.

When the pair made their case public, it prompted mothers all over the country to come forward with their own experiences of being told their babies had died, but never believing it. One such woman was Manoli Pagador, who has begun searching for her son.

A BBC documentary, This World: Spain's Stolen Babies, follows her efforts to discover if he is Randy Ryder, a stolen baby who was brought up in Texas and is now aged 40.

In some cases, babies' graves have been exhumed, revealing bones that belong to adults or animals. Some of the graves contained nothing at all.

The BBC documentary features an interview with an 89-year-old woman named Ines Perez, who admitted that a priest encouraged her to fake a pregnancy so she could be given a baby girl due to be born at Madrid's San Ramon clinic in 1969. 'The priest gave me padding to wear on my stomach,' she says.

It is claimed that the San Ramon clinic was one of the major centres for the practice.

Many mothers who gave birth there claim that when they asked to see their child after being told it had died, they were shown a baby's corpse that appeared to be freezing cold.

The BBC programme shows photographs taken in the Eighties of a dead baby kept in a freezer, allegedly to show grieving mothers.

Despite hundreds of families of babies who disappeared in Spanish hospitals calling on the government to open an investigation into the scandal, no nationally co-ordinated probe has taken place.

As a result of amnesty laws passed after Franco's death, crimes that took place during his regime are usually not examined. Instead, regional prosecutors across the country are investigating each story on a case-by-case basis, with 900 currently under review.

But Ms Adler says: 'There is very little political will to get to the bottom of the situation.'

There are believed to be thousands more cases that will never come to light because the stolen children fear their adoptive parents will be seen as criminals.

Many of the families of stolen babies have taken DNA tests in the hope of eventually being matched with their children. Some matches have already been made but, without a nationally co-ordinated database, reuniting lost relatives will be a very difficult process.

Comment: Trafficking infants and protecting paedophiles. How can any sane person stay affiliated with such a corrupt organization as the Catholic church?

Peace Goddess' and Godz!! As we continue further inscissions into these "advisor's to the king" (the Boule'), I would like to go over a few things from part one's to refresh your pineal glandz. This is truly a time to rejoice because the truth is sprouting up like a plant through the cracks of a concrete sidewalk. For too long these secrets have been buried and now, by the forces of Nature, we see rebirth in this concrete jungle!

Last piece, we laid the foundation of this wicked "white-with-black-faced" secret society called the Boule' or Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Inc. We unleashed our liquid sword and beheaded the beast of secrets exposing the organization's founding 6 members, one being dr. henry mckee minton of Philadelphia, on May 15, 1904. We also know, from reading the history book of the Boule' — written by charles h. wesley, that on page 28, we find that minton wanted to make this organization just like Skull and Bones, the 2nd chapter of a german-based white supremist organization (the Illuminati) which founded Skull and Bones at Yale University in 1776.


We also found the premises for this wicked group was to steal the black professional from the ranks of Marcus Garvey, which, at that time was reaching over 1 million-plus Afrikans in america without tv or radio. We also realized that right after the Boule' was founded, the 4 black frats and 4 black sororities were founded, as well as the NAACP and Urban League. Next, our next incision will go a level deeper. We will perform open heart surgery and split open the aorta of so-called black greeks; we will define the meaning of the Boule's logo — the Sphinx; their colors; and more of their connection with masonry. Let's start with their logo.

When I learned this, it clearly made sense why the first black college fraternity, alpha phi alpha, would choose to call it the sphinx and not Her-Em-Akhet; because their knowledge base is greek oriented and not Afrikan! WHAT DOES THE LOGO MEAN?
As stated before, Boule' means "advisor to the king", and we clarified last piece that the king is the Rockefeller Foundation. If we were to bring some numerology into this, the sphinx's number is 9. The riddle of the Sphinx is what walks on 4, 2, then 3. That equals 9. 4 symbolized the ignorant man (baby); 2, the intellectual (young adult); and 3, the spiritual (old man with cane, which means wisdom).

The masonic definition of the number 9 is the natural number of man AND the lower worlds (or evil)! Looking at the logo, you will notice under the sphinx in between the greek letters, there are 2 sets of 3x3 squares. Brutha Steve Cokely pointed out, after attending a Boule' national conference a couple years ago, that each square represented each of the 4 black frats and 4 black sororities. The final square belongs to the one that started it all, the Boule'!

Understand, this ain't something I & I thought up to amuse you. We went to the lion's den to find out what this beast is all about. None of this is secondhand info! Remember what I just told you about 9 being their number?! I know I don't have to think for you, weigh it yourself!

You will also notice the sphinx with his right paw covering an earn (vase). Inside the earn we see a circle-within-a-circle with a dot in the middle. This had 2 meanings. So what the sphinx is doing is what it's definition is, "protect, guard; gatekeeper". It is protecting the interests of white supremacy! The second meaning is the circle within the circle has a dot in the middle. The circle, including the dot is the symbol of Ra. THE BOULE'S NEED TO RECRUIT
The Boule' has taken a sworn oath to maintain the state of white supremacy and to never let you know the whites that rule the world. It's just like the house negro/field Afrikan theory. These are the one's who dictate what goes in and goes out of each issues of these so-called black magazines.) as long as they 'inform' massa of any Marcus Garvey's, Queen Tiye's, Malcolm X's, or Queen Nzingha's.

As in the first piece, we knew the Boule' was founded to steal the black professional from Garvey. We know Garvey wanted to go back to Afrika because Rockerfeller, Rothschilds, Carnegie, Mellon's, and the Oppenheimer's were in our motherland raping and stripping her natural resources (gold, silver, oil, diamonds) and building mega-trillion industries. What we don't realize is why and how white supremacy, using the Boule', got the newly pardoned young black professional.

Think, around the early 1900s (Boule' founded in 1904; All black frats and sororities, NAACP, and Urban League founded within 10 years after that), we were barely 40 years out of physical slavery. The Civil War just passed. We were free (physically), but our mental was so damaged, there was much self-denial going on. Many of our ancestors hated havin' their dark complexion, having nappy hair, thick lips, hips, the whole nine. Alot of this was enhanced with white amerikkka portraying us as monkeys, watermelon eater's, shoe-tapping, broken english, happy-go-lucky, turn-the-other-cheek, passive negroes.

There were many products available to those blacks who no longer wanted to be Afrikan, or their true selves. There were bleach creams to make your skin lighter and the straightening comb (Madame CJ Walker, 1908). This allowed those who didn't want to be Afrikan, to fantacize bein' something else, YET still not white! What was going here was separation. As a result of this, our people were divided. If you were dark-skinned, it wasn't much you could do. But if you were light-skinned (mulatto) you had a chance.

We still see this today, especially in our women having artificial hair (weaves), nails, eyes, breasts, you name it! When given a deeper look, the "founders" of these organizations, most found in the early 1900s, "not only mimicked their prototype, white institutions, they attempted to 'out white' them", as writer Charles Grantham cited in his book 'Do "We" Really Wanna Be Greeks?'

Most disagree, and you're probably wanna-be greeks, but ask yourself, if these organization are really for Afrikan people, why do they wear the greek letters of our Ancestorz enemy??!! You don't need ANY affiliation with the enemy to do good for your peeps!!


The first Afrikans allowed to go to college were those that came from families that tried to be what they were not, white! These were the 'upper-class' negroes YT knew were busy trying to be like them. They knew these negroes didn't like being around their darker-skinned brutha and sistaz. They knew these negroes tried to act like them, dress like them, eat, sleep, mate, speak, and worship the same demonic god like them! Now there were a couple of dark-skinned Afrikans that got through. A couple of the founder's of the wack frat I'm no longer apart of had some. These were the one's most suitable to be the gatekeeper's of the concrete plantation the New World Order was beginning to physically manifest.

The 8 black frat and sororities are subordinates of the Boule'. The founders of alpha phi alpha, were affiliated, in some way with either the Boule' or masonry. Within the organization, they started segregation. In the history book of a phi a, there was a day called 'tap-day', where interested bruthaz were blindfolded and the members of the frat walked up and tapped on the shoulder the ones they wanted to become members. Those not chosen could not join. These bruthaz, envying the declined membership, chose to start their own frat, Kappa Alpha Psi, with the help of a "jewish" frat, Phi Nu Pi.

Understand that all black organizations had black faces as scapegoats, but it was this white beast that used these negroes to further mentally enslave us, having us segregate ourselves. The bruthaz of Kappa Alpha Psi, in turn, became just as selective. Along with the Alpha's not taking bruthaz solely because of our Afrikan link, two other frats emerged: Omega Psi Phi and Phi Beta Sigma. Today, there are even more frats, further dividing our people and enabling the beast to slay us because we are not united. The same goes for the sororities. It shouldn't come as a shock when learning what the AKAs requirements were for anyone to become considered a possible member when they first started in 1908, they had a system called "the brown bag test".

This was a test that consisted of a brown paper bag. They would line up the ones interested and put a brown paper bag next to their skin. If they were darker than the bag, they couldn't become a member. Deep, DEEP hatred of our culture! Think of how many could not join because they were "too dark". Sistaz who were members of AKA, who didn't like what they were about, broke away and formed their own sorority, Delta Sigma Theta. Soon, two other's formed, Sigma Gamma Rho and Zeta Phi Beta. Today, we have more black sororities, even one's that claim they're a nursing sorority. As Cokely stated, "You may be just an Alpha or AKA, but you are greek nevertheless!"

The whole notion of becoming a black greek is wack! When I pledged (and every initiate of every organization has to do this), one of the first things we had to learn was the greek alphabet. Why not the Metu Neter?! After all, that is one example of a cultural identity we had that preceded greeks! The reason? If you remember, in the Boule's history book, on page 38 it says, "In the building of the organizational plan, reliance was placed upon Greek history and tradition. THE CROSS OVER RITUAL
Once an initiate has pledged a certain amount of time, there is a ritual that goes on before they are welcomed into the organization. Most call it "crossing the burning sands". In one of masonry's rituals (degrees), there is a riddle. A master mason asks an initiate, "did you come by foot or camel back?" If the initiate, unknowingly replies, "by foot," this let's the master mason know he is talking to "the beast" and he is not ready to earn that degree yet. The mason's know about the story of Jacob and they know of their true origin. The underlying message is that we don't know!
