The original 5 are great. The budget was low, but I think that had to do with the film studios in the late 60's and early 70's not agreeing with the social commentary.
I thought Burton's re-telling was ok, but didn't like that humans were able to talk.

The fifth one of the originals was the weakest and Burton's movie sucked.

love all of the originals (Even though the fifth one is a serious step down in almost every aspect, it's still watchable and interesting), hated the screenplay and alot of the acting in burton's...i want to see this and this trailer in particular looks sweet, but i'm not going to get my expectations too high

This was probably the best way to retell the original mythology.
<Possible Spoilers>
You get the science fiction aspect of how the apes become smarter and how the human race begins to fall. You get the self-contained story while having various aspects to expand into a sequel like the Icarus spaceship lost in space. What caught me off guard was when Caesar yelled,"No!". A must see most definitely.

Excellent movie. They took the paradoxical original story and made it make sense.

It was pretty good, it seemed like they went the dumbed down/easy route on some shit, like making the black dude and brian cox so over the top EVIL!!! and the scene with john lithgow where caesar defends him was kind of cringeworthy imo...i've been told i'm too critical.
