i just got his album, inspired by kweli's and mos def's dynamite cameos on the dave chapelle show. its pretty sick, but the only gray area is mos def's delivery. somehow, he tends to swallow some words in the midst of his verses, and so i find myself logging on to ohhla.com everytime i have this cd in my walkman. its kind of annoying, because he's a legit MC, and furthermore, his delivery seemed perfect when i was watching dave chappelle show (and his track on brown sugar, for that matter...). does anyone else notice this, or is it that i'm just not accustomed to mos def yet?

haha yea how're you doing man. i actually missed going to this site, and although chambermusik's emergence during the corp's absence was heroic, it didnt' quite suffice.
but yeah, on some tracks, i feel that kweli really outshines mos def. but respiration is an amazing song, and mos def definitely kills it. i'l have to get black on both sides to become more familiar with mos def.

The cd is definately dope as hell. A classic album. I know what you mean about Kweli outshining Mos. But Mos is still my favorite of the two. Def. pick up Black on Both Sides. Its also a classic. But if you thinking about getting The New Danger too, skip it. Or dl some shit first from New Danger. I like it but its like alot of rock and singing. More than rap.

Oh, and I forgot to say.... look out for a new album by Blackstar coming late 2005, early 2006. They said they was gonna do one in an interview about 2 months ago. So look out for that.

Anybody heard that song, "Bright Like the Stars". I'm not sure what its off of, they listed it as a new single as of 2005, but I dunno how credible that is. Anyways, sounded good.

yeah but i reallly had to check out the lyrics to mos def's verse on that track, because the first and middle part to me is really garbled, and i couldn't for the life of me figure out what he was saying until i went to ohhla.com. its mainly that song and brown skin lady that i encounter this malfunction...mos seems to be implementing an almost reggae-type style on brown skin lady, and sometimes its like he's just mumbling nonsensical words....but everything else from him on there is stellar. on astronomy 8th light, what does he mean when he says "you full of big chat (?), but none me"...? in a somewhat unrelated matter, on that last track, that guy wordsworth just rips it when he says "...my mic theory, Sony or Aiwa, black and white, i rap in all stereotypes" or something like that... he took that whole track with that one line, that was masterful!
