Thanks for your imput Sparrow. First remark I want to make is that I feel it's unfair to generalize everbody here as assholes. I asked the board a question and most of them replied in a decent manner which I appreciated. With the exception of a few that resort to swearing and shit, I think the overall discussion was of interest to me.

As for your question regarding the Clan's attitude to the sound I'm doing. Some were definitely feeling it: Ghost, Rae, Masta Killa and others just did it cause I asked them. As I mentioned before Deck & U-God sometimes didn't like the beats referring to them as dark funeral music. But in my opinion, they haven't sounded so good as they did on my beats for a long time. Then again, that's a producer's opinion, not fact.

I know this has been covered before, but it's still depressing to hear it coming out of the Generals' mouth. what would Deck prefer, Manifesto-type beats? and U-God should just be thankful he's getting some dope beats to rhyme over finally.

I know you said Rae heard the most and was kinda geeking, so he's gotta be feeling the sound. and Ghost sounds like he's enjoying it on the track you just posted up. idk what they were expecting exactly -- Diddy's The Hitmen beats?

"dark, funeral music"? they used those words!? they probably didn't describe them that way when they made by 4th disciple and rza. deck was the one that turned down a bunch of rza beats that sounded too "ghost dog", right? that, to me, was when rza was at his peak.

Besides those 3 feeling the production & Deck/U-God not really into dark funeral music...it seems GZA, RZA, Cappadonna & Method Man did it because they were asked.

rae, ghost, masta killa... they have a tendency to lean towards the older sound... the rest can swing either way but when it comes to their own albums they tend to play 'safe' and go with the current times, not flashback to older times. Everyone's too busy to care much about what I'm doing so they dont ask many questions and just go for it. I obviously get it done easier in a "less business-only" treatment due to my relationship with them.
