He's just trying to hide the fact that he reversed engineered the Wu formula to create the VBD album, sounds like a straight Killa Bee album.....it was still a good lp, can't front

I remember the first time I heard VBD and was like damn this is very Sunz of Man like. VBD still sounds good today. JMT misses Stoupe. Peace

VBD is a great album in my opinion. Stoupe was so sick as a producer and still is. He like Rza, Premo, and Pete Rock have that sound that is instantly recognizable and you know exactly who produced it. C-lance is a definitive step down and I thought their last album was decent at best. Vinnie is what he is, he was best on VBD and servants in heaven, but overall he is pretty one note. This album looks good though. Any new boom bap shit is good.

VBD was a very different album thematically and lyrically to Wu albums VBD was a classic and some of Stoupe's beats are better than RZA's and it sure as hell was better than any Killa Bee's albums, hell i even prefer it to Enter the 36 no doubt Stoupe was influenced by RZA but he had his own sound and vibe lyrically it was way more spaced out with more pseudo and religious themes not all underground 90's rap had its outreach from wu lmao i guess Heltah Skeltah Nocturnal was Wu too

Have yet to get 'Season Of The Assassin' and not planning to get this either. Vinnie's banter raps are a disgrace to muslims the world over. I embrace him as a brother of Allah but will not embrace his hateful mentality. He's a very talented and capable artist and many of his songs display that. I find solice in Islam and hopefully he will too.

2nd...You still haven't mentioned SOUND, read my post, I said SOUND, not lyrically/thematically....please do the knowledge...EVERYTIME I throw this album in the whip and i'm driving around with my boys i get the same shit "Is this wu tang"...."nah this is jedi mind tricks"..."oh this sounds like some killa bee shit" lol there's no denying this, they reversed engineered the wu formula, stop dickeating. And nah this isn't better than the classic killa bee albums hahaha thats a joke, Paz alone stops it from being that 3rd....you sound butt hurt in your reply

No Stoupe on this so no reason to be excited. People talk about Paz fell off but he never was that great, he's yelling the same crap over and over again I'm going to kill you.. we get it already.
He gets outshined by almost everyone he ever worked with and he got destroyed by the killabees Priest and also GZA. Jedi Mind Tricks was great because of Stoupe and Jus Allah came correct but he's wack right now. Last JMT related work was the wackest cause Stoupe wasnt on there to save it like always. Someone post a track where Vinnie Paz destroys someone.. he's always the weaker link

http://ohhla.com/anonymous/jedimind/...enghis.jmt.txt ^ IMO he out-shined everyone on that song. http://ohhla.com/anonymous/jedimind/...oodrun.jmt.txt ^ The way this verse is structured was original at the time. Vinnie has overplayed it in recent albums now, but it's kind of like a trademark now. http://ohhla.com/anonymous/jedimind/...imal_r.jmt.txt ^ Although it's been stated many times that Kool G Rap came into the studio and wrote his 16s on the spot, I think Vinnie went harder on the beat. http://ohhla.com/anonymous/jedimind/...avymtl.jmt.txt ^ Might be unfair that he had 2-to-1 verses, but I always can't wait until Ill Bill's verse ends. Not that his verse wasn't good, I just feel like he was out-shined on both of Paz's verses. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mic_Club:_The_Curriculum ^ This is arguable due to mic presence. http://ohhla.com/anonymous/army_of/t...enry_8.arm.txt There were other examples (a lot of songs w/ features on VBD) where his lyrics might not out-shine the features, but his mic presence definitely makes his verse stand out. |
