So these are widely hailed as Pac's best albums but which one is better?
Me Against the World was a more somber, introspective album where Pac really wore his heart on his sleeve while All Eyez on Me was more of a "celebration of life" type album. Pac had just got out of jail on bail and signed with Death Row as part of the bail agreement. In turn he made the first double-disc hip hop album ever. Personally I'm a fan of AEOM simply because it's diverse and more fun that MATW. The music and the beats on AEOM are fantastic, even though they are a bit commercial. What's you guys' take on the matter? |

Tough call, both are good in their own way. I'll vote for all eyes on me, basically one of only few double albums that is good. I wouldn't hate on anyone who said me against the world, its just my own perspective that all eyes on me is slightly better.

I prefer me against the world only because of a few songs. Theyre quite even otherwise.

I like all eyez but honestly think 7 day theory was his best, honestly don't think he as a real classic album overall though just a ton of amazing tracks

^come on, he has a few classics albums.
I'm going with AEOM. It would've been great to experience its impact in '96. |

Its kind of like his albums were retroactively classic.

All Eyez on Me is ambitious for a double disc; you have such good cuts like "All About U", "How Do You Want It", "Picture Me Rollin'" "I Ain't Mad at Cha" and "Thug Passion" but then again, you also had bad cuts like "No More Pain", "When We Ride" and "What'z Ya Phone No.
Me Against the World has such a consistent sound, it has more dope cuts with songs such as the titular title track, "So Many Tears", "Dear Mama", "Old School", "Young Niggaz" and "Temptations" and those cuts give you a true nature of 2Pac, one who is against the world and still wants to prove himself; something you don't get much on "All Eyez on Me", plus the sound stands up more to time and the lyrics are truly valuable to the hip-hop game. Therefore, Me Against the World wins this battle.

Bar a few tracks the second disk on all eyez on me fuckin sucks. The first disk is an absolute banger though, if it was just that disk I'd say I prefer that over me against the world, but as it is, it's a tough call

I thought disc 2 was a bit more commercial sounding, but still solid stuff. What's your fav AEOM track?

me against the world was pac at his most honest.
he was getting ready to do a bid, so he didnt know when he would be able to record again. he put it all out there on that album, its almost like a hip hop blues album. and while me against the world was good, it was a lot of gangster posturing in order to appease the death row records audience/label heads. me against the world is 2pac's classic album.
