I'm getting tired of hearing about mixtape after mixtape. It seems like some rappers don't even put out actual albums anymore, they just keep putting these stupid mixtapes out. Back in the day, a mixtape meant that you taped some songs off the radio.

no doubt. def seems like mixtapes are a dime a dozen. arraybody got one too.
i think it lets artists put out the shit they really like of their own music. opposed to having to put certain songs, and having a certain sound to albums, as said by record label, aka check signer.

helps Djs and the Artist promote shit, its usually just songs they're doing for the love of it, its not like, 'we have to go platinum on this mixtape' ya know....
i like mixtapes, even tho a prefer an album, but mixtapes arnt bad depending on the DJ, i jsut dont liek when a DJ has to yell his fuckin name all over the track every 20 seconds......its annoying.....i just copped (bootlegged, lo) the new Copywrite, well 2004 but newest mixtape, and he rhyems on some radio beats, but most of them are made by the DJ himself not just using songs off the radio, i would say 7 of 27 songs are radio beats.......its a phat mixtape |

Mixtapes have always been big in the tri-state.
Problem is after 50 blew on the mixtape circuit all these wack emcees thought they could catch some spotlight spitting a quick few bars and unfortunately it worked. That's why today we have to hear all this wack shit from Fabolous, Lloyd Banks, Joe Budden, Cassidy, etc and yes I'm including Jadakiss in this category too hes the king of this mixtape bullshit. These guys might be good for a quick 16 but none of them can make MUSIC for shit. |
