No particular order:

"3 Feet high and Rising" De La Soul- The epitome of creative sampling in hip hop...brilliant production from Prince Paul....best hip hop skits ever....and you know De La got down on it..."Eye Know" is probably my favorite hip hop love song.

"Pauls Boutique" Beastie Boys- Possibly even more creative than "3 Feet" when it comes to sampling...Each B Boy stepped up their game lyrically from their debut (which is very weak lyrically to me) on this as well

"Paid in Full" Eric B. And Rakim- Perhaps the most bitten hip hop album of all time...impossible to define how revolutionary/classic it is.

"It takes a Nation of Millions to hold us Back" Public Enemy- beats out "Criminal Minded" and "By any means necessary" for the best socially conscious rap album of the 80s. Chuck came hard over the bomb squad production.

"People's instinctive Travels and the paths of rythym" A Tribe called Quest- although De La and the Jungle brothers were the first to jumpstart the Native Tongues movement, this album kept it strong. Just a dope album you can chill to. Who would have thought that Tip, Phife and Ali would follow this with 2 even better albums.

honorable mentions:

NWA-Straight out of compton...I'm more of an east coast guy, but theres no denying the influence of this album on the rap game. Cube is an Animal, and dre holds it down on the production tip. it takes away that half of the group used Cube to write for them.

BDP-Criminal Minded and By any means necessary...KRS One helping start the conscious movement in hip hop, plus very dope beats and rhymes.

Beastie Boys-Liscensed to Ill....Sure Adrock, Mike D, and MCA are no rakims on the mike, but still a very dope and fun album to listen to. Still the best white rappers of all time by far to me.

I aint gonna front I was born in '78 and listening Ra was like a 7 year old liking GZA. In the 80's I was all about Slick Rick, Da La and the Native Tongues, My Buddy was the shit. The Sympony was fire too..that brings me to Kane I think that nigga was a early Ghost..could rap about the bitches and dress all fly and shit then could spit for the nigga on the corner. The Juice Crew is like the early Wu.
