Nas' Lost Tapes is a classic, I never thought I'd say that about a B-Sides album. I honestly rank it up there with the rest of his catalogue. don't sleep. peace

Ghostface: Supreme Clientele
The last wu-classic in my opinion, even though some releases past that one were very dope (The W, Iron Flag, No Said Date or Pretty Toney come to mind).

Talib Kweli & Hi-Tek: Reflection Eternal.
A perfect and complete album. Hi-Tek was on some heavy shit when he did this album and Kweli will never sound as good as on this lp.

Madlib & Mf Doom: Madvillain
One of the best emcees of these times working with the most prolific and creative producer out right now. It couldn't be less than an underground classic.

Madlib as Quasimoto: The Unseen
Weird concept, strange sped up voice and banging unorthodox production. A personal classic no doubt.

Common: Like Water For Chocolate
I should add D'Angelo's Voodoo cause those albums are deeply linked with each other. Same energy, same production team znd same intensity. LWFC is Common's best album and Voodoo's the best soul release since a long time (i'm still waiting for an album which could beat it).

Common Be
It feels like Common's Illmatic. Short (11 tracks), excellent production by Kanye West who reached his peak by mixing his style with boom bap aestetic. J-Dilla brings 2 soulful bangers too. ANd Common's a beast on it.

Jay-z Black Album
I'm not a Jay-z fan but i just loved that album. It was short, well balanced and the beats were varied and dope. Sure Jay-z is so full of himself he had to remove a couple of his bones to suck his own dick, but you can't front on the skills, cleverness and charisma.

De La Soul Grind Date
Underrated album. Production is top notch and the emcees are still holdin it down.

Little Brother- The Listening
First i love Big Pooh and Phonte. But the real hero was 9th Wonder, showing the world you could make it happen with Fruity Loops.

that's all i got in mind right now, i prolly forgot a lot of albums...

Chino XL-I Told You So

Come on, y'all: "Let 'Em Live" with Kool G. Rap is one of the best collabos of this millennium. And one of my favorite punchlines of all time:

"For Shakesperian actors, Chino shall busteth your asseth..."

I think some of you are just naming good albums, and not actual CLASSICS.....
.....a CLASSIC is an album that either changes the game some how, is fresh and super creative, or defines a period in time

Some of you fools are calling albums like JADAKISS KISS THE GAME GOODBYE, OBIE TRICE, etc fuckin classics......makes me laugh

first off alot of you little wannabe hip hop heads dont get your heads out of the reppetitive mainstream music, Jay-z doesnt even deserve to be there. I bet you also think the yin yang twins are dope too??
theres been alot of talent in hip hop .

if you want to talk chicago hip hop,
typical cats-civil service album, allnatural, vakill, juice, molemen, are all fucking dope.

mid westyou got
atmosphere, eydea and abillities, sage francis-the joe beats album is the best,

westcoast you got
anticon, visionaries, living legends, murs and slug are sick ep's, psycho realm, war cloud ,

eastcoast you have
arsonist, necro, ill bill, q- unique,mf doom, wu tang of course,

not to mention all the dope underground rappers like robust, qual, immortal technique, odd jobs, jedi mind trixs, brother ali, asop rock, el p., 2mex, lmno, acid rain, mestizo, j-live, and many many more, that i could sit here for days.

you people need to give it up to the underground for puting up with the wack radio crap.......

God's Son isn't a classic. I liked it when I first got it about a year ago, now I'm sick of it.

Edan - Beauty and the Beat is a classic I think. I only got it a week or 2 ago, but it still sounds as fresh as it did on day 1.
