You I think JAY-Z has to have the best ear for beats in the rap game......like dude knows which beats are going to produce hits, which beats are going to produce street bangers, and which producers are up and coming........seems like after JAY Z uses a producer, everyone else in the rap game runs after that producer or sound.
I also think GHOSTFACE, and KOOL KEITH (kutmasta kurt, Automator, etc) have good ears and taste in picking beats |

I actually think Jay-Z has horrible taste in beats. He may have an ear for what's "hot" in the club, but he doesn't appreciate pure hip-hop beats. This is clear if you watch that DVD. Maybe he has a feminine ear, because bitches seem to always like his music. Canibus has the absolute worst taste in beats though. How can someone with such an aggressive flow like such passive beats. Right now I think Buckshot has the best taste in beats because he got 9th Wonder to do his whole joint.

As for the topic: - Ghostface has the great ability to pick a dope beat. He def has the ear! - What about afu-ra? He has some of the dopest beats ever on his first album! To bad he ain't that much of an MC IMO.

Young Buck actually has some nice beats on his album. Shame he's such a wack rapper, most of the beats on his album could have been made into something nice with a decent MC on it.
Nas doesn't have a good taste in beats. He's a great rapper but I don't like a lot of his beats. |
