pretty chilidish arguement. its just not as simple as that he puts it
the human race cant go into economic depression everytime an bad event MIGHT happen (or exist at all) you have to use science and see what is going on, what is MOST LIKELY to happen and where that will leave us and then make a decision. its not just a case of drawing a diagram and saying 'this would be good, this would be bad, avoid bad at all costs"

in 2045 something that looks like it might be a comet might travel down and may hit the earth
option a: spend all of our money to build fire boosts to shift the planet 100 miles east option b: do nothing and get destroyed by a comet answer - getting destoryed by a comet is bad. dont pick this option. .. it just isnt as simple as that.
