Default A question about the wave of japanese horror lately

are these movies (the ring, grudge, dark water) very popular in Japan? im just curious.

Not realy I guess,but Americans think the movies are scary as hell, and they are scarier then Hollywood horor movies ofcourse.So with the help of the original director they do this remake etc.... I think it's becoming a hype in Japan, even Miike Takashi made his own ghost movie aswell "One Missed Call", I wonder when the Americans are gonna make a remake of that....
