Let's face it. Mainstream hip hop is full of more bullshit than ever.
Faggots like Ray Cash who makes an entire song about how "he's a pimp in his own mind" and Mike Jones who gets pleasure out of saying his name. Fuck J-Kwon and his one-hit-wonder ass. When I turn to MTV Jams, I wanna see some good old grimey videos, not all this bling bling bullshit. Now I,m even more dependent on my CDs, particularly Wu-Tang. I haven't even turned on my radio for about a year cause they don't play what I want to here.

This is the reason I think HIP HOP is dying if not dead already.........all the new artists that get any sort of exposure suck and are more than willing to do the radio jingles if it gets them money........like who are the new cats in the rap game the last couple years.....CHINGY, CASSIDY, MIKE JONES, YING YANG TWINS, J-KWON, LIL FLIP, etc etc..........all the new artsists are straight bubblegum, in hopes of making money..........Real MC's do not get signed to major labels anymore, the labels would rather have manufactured bubblegum artists that turn a quick buck..........young kids just see rap as a way to make money, and they could care less about lyrics etc. This quote sums it up:

"In the old days, If you were a rapper you could make money! Today, If you want to make some money, you start rapping"

It's not just rap, it's most music in general. I know "Smile" by Brian Wilson has been waited for for 37 years, and its finally come out, and its probably the greatest thing I've ever heard. It sells decently, but not what it would have sold in 67 if it had come out then. Some good pop still sells (Just Timberlake), but most of the "music" in every genre is label-manufactured garbage.

lol its not the industry's fault the industry is open right now. if wu came out with an album right now they could get radio play cause there are no major players right now. the ppl highest up right now are 50, TI, Luda, Game, and the Swisha house niggas. Hopefully hip hop will go the same route as rock and roll. With rock music, you have classic rock and you have todays shitheads like Simple Plan. If songs from about 1997 and below or artists that were in their prime then, were given their own genre, and artists after that time were put in their own genre, then artists like the Wu wouldn't be assotiated with those dipshits just because they are in the same genre. Or maybe we can lable them as "Pop."
