The Zoo York’s Am Getting Paid international amateur skateboard contest culminates on September 23rd with an awesome after party. Chef Raekwon from New York's Wu Tang Clan has just been confirmed as the main act for the infamous Am Getting Laid after party.
"The Wu Tang clan has such a strong attachment in the skateboard world and countless tracks are featured in so many skateboard videos” explains contest promoter, Alex Bastide.
The Zoo York Am Getting Paid is an international skateboard contest in its third year which offers a purse of over $15,000 to up-coming amateur skaters.
Held on September 22-24th, this years contest is scheduled to be the biggest amateur contest to date with over 200 riders participating from around the world.
The Zoo York’s Am Getting Laid after-party is on Saturday, September 23rd, doors open at 10pm.

Thrasher Magazine: Tell us about the skateboard video you did back in '99 that never came out?

Gza: The song was called "Crash Ya Crew." off the last album. Just off the title alone I wanted to have skateboarding involved with it. I focused on a few crashes in skateboarding, as a lot of times they fall. I wanted to use the raw essence of skateboarding. I can't do it personally, but I had a skateboard myself at a very young age. In the '70s it was all new to us. I went out and got footage of a whole bunch of street stuff as the video was looking kind of boring, because all I had was ramp stuff. So I went out and I gathered other footage and paid for it. They licensed it to us so I cut it up. It had some nice video shots, nice maneuvers in it.

TM: There is definitely a vibe with street skating and hip-hop right now. Have you checked out Muskabeatz?

Gza: No, but I've felt for years that there's a vibe between those two things. A majority of my fans are skateboarders. That's the connection.

yup lupe fiasco was not the frist, in the remix with hell razah ill admit i thought the video was wack when i first saw it but its an orginal concept lupe fiasco wasn't the first kids.

i skate and a lot of skaters listen to wu tang and in one of my recent skate mags there was some ad for a contest to win a wu tang deck or some shit. it was in promotion for the new dvd i think. and yeah this is sick, zoo york is great.
