36 Chamber was a very exceptional album, and it should be considered as the one of the best hip hop albums. It all depends on your taste. To call it the best is just an opinion that you probably share with others. I think 36 Chambers shouldn't only be considered the best hip hop album, but top 20 in all gendres just because the impact it had on the rap game and music in general.

I don't know on paper at least 36 will always be the greatest rap album ever for me.

But I've listened to it SO many times I can't hear it anymore I need to go without playing it a few years then maybe I can fall in love with it all over again. No one to blame on that one but myself tho. Enter will always be the classic.

how exactly did 36 chambers impact hiphop?...honest question.

i think the things wu-tang did after the album where what had impact rather than the album itself. i look at 36 chambers as a catalist for what happened prior to it.

You're overthinking this man. Cause it was a mindblowin fucking album when it came out there's no big mystery there.

If you want to define "impact" as only something that changed the game instead of just quality music, 36 is still the only classic with real impact in the camp along with Cuban Linx. All the others- Tical, Liquid Swords, Ironman, even your beloved Forever- didn't change shit, as good as they were. A lot of great albums don't.

36 Chambers got everything started for Wu-Tang. If they released soemthing weak 12 years ago when you actually had to have skills to suceed, all the albums the followed wouldn't have been made if it wasn't for 36 Cahmbers. How did it not impact Hip Hop? 36 Chambers is regarded as one of the best hip hop albums by fellow Hip Hop heads. Hip Hop has never seen a group that consisted of so many members. RZA came out with kung fu samples. 36 Cahmbers is also a curse for wu-tang, just like illmatic is for Nas. Everytime a new wu album comes out you will hear fans wanting something similar to 36 Chambers. I'm gonna agree with you I also consider 36 chambers as a catalyst, but without the catalyst being succesful, there most likely wouldn't have dropped so many classics.

No no this is wrong too. Well partly. If you're talking in a popularity sense Ready To Die was a lot bigger than 36 Chambers. 36 was popular but not popular enough nationwide to steal all the attention from Snoop and Dre back then like Biggie was. Illmatic was even less well known at the time outside of NYC don't let these Nas stans on the net revise history on you.

yes thats how define it. as an album that changes the game. i love liquid swords and it my second favorite album ever but it had exactly 0 impact on hiphop, just a damn good album.

yeah it was biggie and bad boy that saved the east. wu-tang was relevent but it was bad boy that truly shifted the balance of power.

well u might be right there but whenever u read wu-tangs bio anywhere ur prolly gonna find out that it mentions wu saving nyc and making room 4 all those classic east coast projects..well anyways wu still re-started the east coast movement eventough it prolly never caught the same attention that some other projects caught

bullz-I,

well then that means that 36 chambers impacted wu-tang, not hiphop. other than a lot of people liking it(remember that it took several years for this album to reach platinum) i dont see how this album in and of itself changed the game.

ever heard of the juice crew?
