It's a very cold hearted thing to do on RZA's part, if it's true.

There's too much criticism here toward Wu-Tang Clan. I thought you admired these guys!
Death is a act of God. RZA has to deal with what happens in his life, with his God, himself! I'm sure he wonders why Poetic was taken out of the world with cancer, but he can't question it. His life goes on. As we can see with the issue at the concert when U-God gave him the finger, RZA has a lot to deal with now, and he did then too. Support him, and stop being so negative. |

You guys are only hearing one side. They obviously has some kind of beef before Poetic knew about the cancer. People don't always stay friends forever.

haha why are you catching feelings, RZA earned a reputation for being a shadeball and being a control freak.

Let's not forget that RzA is a business man and may have led Poetic to believe that they are good friends, but It's feasible to believe he may not have viewed Poetic as anything more than an acquaintance.
I don't think we should forget that Rza is a human. I also distinctly remember RzA saying that once Prince Paul left, Gee Street gave him complete rights of Gravediggaz and RzA boasted that it was because of him that Gravediggaz still recorded. He stated he had a 18 point deal to record Bobby Digital and had the sole choice to scrap Gravediggaz, he says he chose to make another record. My point is, he made such a big deal about it, its almost as if he was developing a bad relationship with the crew. I'll try and find the article. Here's Frukwan's response to a question: " Q. Rza is obviously absent this time around, is he still a part of the Gravediggaz family? A." Uhm..... I dunno...you have to ask Rza that. Me and Poetic knew what we had to do. Prince Paul showed his love, but I can't speak for the Rza, I can only speak for Fruitkwan the Gatekeeper and Poetic the Grym Reaper..." I kind makes one think that there is something going on backstage. It doesn't seem to be a "oh ya Rza's that nigga, its all good", its more like "I don't know where Rza is at, Prince paul loved us, but RzA is absent" Here's a very telling quote "But things quickly went south. The RZA lost interest in the Gravediggaz when his real love, the Wu-Tang Clan, blew up. The Diggaz's second album, 1997's The Pick, The Shovel and The Sickle, featured less of the RZA and Prince Paul, but the album's cover featured RZA much more prominently than the other members. According to Poetic, the RZA was only convinced to do the second album when Gee Street allowed his production company to control the project. Still, the album evoked the Wu's dirty, insistent sound—plus their trademark biblical speak—and RZA shone the spotlight to his latest acolytes, Tru Master, Goldfinghaz and 4th Disciple. "Babylon is never penalized for being offside/So many lost lives," Poetic shot off on the meandering "The Day The Earth Cried.” Not long after, the foursome was reduced to Fruitkwan and Poetic." I personally think there was no "real friendship" going on, and if you were to ask Rza his feeling towards the Gravediggaz it would end in "its nothing personal, its just business" Last edited by Dominus Santorini; 09-15-2006 at 12:51 PM. |
