avi. to dvd
i got a whole heap of avi that i want to put onto a disc and watch on my dvd player....... some reason my dvd player wont read the files........ (reads wmv and other files normaly)

Alot of DVD players don't read that format. The faw that do require it to be Dvix format. Your best bet is to get a DVD burning program like Nero Visual Studio and actually burn it in DVD format.
Either that or convert the files to MPEG-2

any suggestions on progy's bloo ?
all the trial versions i get are shit, only do half the file or yeah arnt free..... realy need help with this - got 4 seasons of ATHF and i have to watch em on me pc  have to say tho its the best picture qaulity ever

You can try either Total Video Converter or Digital Media Converter. Now if you decide that you wanna keep the video quality high you'll have to convert at the highest quality but you'll most likely end up with files so big you can only fit a couple on a DVD at a time. I'd say your best bet is to use a DVD video burner and just burn it as a DVD video disc.

I have ConvertXToDVD, good converting program. You can add your own menu's etc..
So if you burnt an MPEG-2 file onto DVD, will it play on DVD players? Never knew that.

yeah wmv too...... i have a dvd disc that i burned as a 'data disc' with all my wu clips on it and my poxy $50 dvd player plays em......... easy and great.......... i guess i'll just watch my cartoons on my pc... damit

i tried all of the converters mentioned in this thread with the exception of one and this is the best so far
