IDK about animation but nah i'm not that crazt abbout Naruto its pretty good though but naw for some reason i'm just not that into it.

nah it wasn't weird, it was a crazy fight scene with mad facial expression gotta read the manga

Apart from a few moments where they use a deform style of animation the style used for the rest of the episode is a style that they have been doing for almost every epic battle on the series you can see parts of it on fights like Naruto Vs Sasuke Lee Vs Gaara Kakashi Vs Akatsuki etc...
all they do is to draw a simple style with less details to improve animation sequences adding more exaggerations to it

I do read the manga but the facial animations when Pain was getting punched in the face was never that weird

And the story behind him not using his Zanpakutou like the other Espada
