My Top 101 Wu-Tang songs (Generals only)

could you explain that further? I am in no way knocking your opinion as I have heard this said before, but I just don't understand, and nobody has ever explained why they don't like it. remember your comments can possibly affect positioning in the list if you display valid reasons and those reasons are cosigned by me as well as others. In many ways it is/was #1 for me too. You asked about iron flag earlier. As you can see it made the top 5. What do you think? Too high? Consider the fact I combined iron flag with the glock as one song. Than consider the artistic merits of placing those two particular songs on one track when deciding for yourself.

It is a good track but compared to some of the others that did not make the list it just doesn't seem as good. Some of the genrals spitting either have good lyrics with a okay flow or vice versa. The track is still 4 out 5 stars for me. It's all opinion though and again props on the list.

No thats not too high, -that song is insane- top 5 for me too. Winter Warz is top 5 too for me. Tearz and CREAM of course too

Thank you for clearing that up and I agree that some of the lyrics are questionable such as Deck who sounds completely different for some reason, but you also have Capp talkin' about his cab driving days which is priceless. And getting all those guys together these days to rap over a fantastic beat is something few and far between lately.

you're gonna hate this.... I think Winter Warz is highly overrated.....one of the few consensus choices that I ignored. It just didn't stand the test of time IMO. I have it as 4 star status, but just for you I will make it 141 on the honerable mentions list. Where it goes from there is up to the forum. My choice to move Tearz out of the top 101 was highly based on a poll here at the forum in which many people said the song was their least favorite on the album.

Special thank you shout to Free Heyzeus aka eric cartman aka general wise (ok starting to feel like Chris Rock on Tical 2000 lol) whose worst of threads helped shape some of my decisions in the 11th hour even if unintentionally.

Again, props for the effort you put into this.

But I wanna co-sign the surprise of seing 9mm Bros that high. To me it's maybe a 3-star track. It smells pro-tools 50 feet away, sounds like they just grabbed a random verse from each member and mashed it on a beat in 5 minutes. Deck's verse is even recycled. RZA's intro is recycled. The whole song sounds like some cheap mixtape-remix. I'm being pretty harsh here lol, but that's how I feel. I don't know if this track shows how important Wu is to Ghost, as the only 'Wu-track' on his latest albums, I hope not. I feel like no effort was put into this, more like to shut the fans up by throwing the clan on a beat.

Thank you very much for this. I never considered most of what you said all though I should have. This post alone is enough to drop it out of the top 25. I knew the beat was recycled and some of the lyrics but I made concessions due to the fact that clan joints have become so rare these days. Still I will go with the change as I feel you have made VERY VALID points.

I have it as 4 star status. The Macy Grey soundalike on the hook kills it for me. The beat is ridiculous. The lyrics are too. (Gza is standout, simply incredible) I love the use of muffled trumpet in the beginning and the Indian sounding sitar that dominates the melody. But Macy or whoever it is (Madame D???) has to go.
