oh, and the reason u cant find it is cuz theres only 1 release of the film...the Hong Kong Legends (UK) version wich is R2 and not available for sale in US..and theres an old out of print vhs under the alternate title "Secret Master" i think..but the HKL is really the one to get. the disc has some nice extras (interviews with leung kar yan and yuen woo ping) a trailer containing rare footage of the deleted scenes, and of course, the film english dubbed or cantonese/subtitled. thats the copy i got..but most importatnly...its WIDESCREEN!!

i started my collection with bruce lee films and tehn drunken master
wu masta killer, i havent seen 8 masters yet..aint that a joseph kuo film? just rewatched South Shaolin Master...that shits an ez 4.5 or possibly 5...easily the best mainland chinese oldskool kung fu film around (this film shits all over jet li's shaolin temple films)...awesome fights, good story, and awesome cinematography...i kno its weird mentioning that in a kung fu film, but since it was shot in mainland china instead of hk studios and taiwan, it has a completely different look and feel...thats y jet's oldskool films dont look and feel like verything else at teh time.. |

8 masters is by joseph kuo, its like a prequel to 18 bronzemen, with carter wong in a different role, theres a similar story, but 18 bronzemen has a pretty linear plot, in comparison so it gets 3/5
8 masters is a lot better for story, fights everything hopefully return of the 18 bronzemen is better heres my top ten at the moment (no order): 1. Five Deadly Venoms 2. 36th Chamber Of Shaolin 3. Masked Avengers 4. Kid With The Golden Arms 5. Prodigal Son 6. Shaolin Vs Lama 7. 8 Diagram Pole Fighter 8. Snake In The Eagles Shadow 9. 7 Grand Masters 10. Born Invincible
