1999 and Purple Rain are his best albums. He fell off after Around The World In A Day album. Diamonds And Pearls album was decent.

I either love or like all of Prince's albums, but my favorite Prince album is without a doubt his Gold Experience album (I know it came out during the period where I'm supposed to say, "he fell off HARD" but in retrospect a strong case could be made as one of his best albums. I think from a purely musical standpoint there are a couple albums that are better in his catalogue, but not too many). All technical stuff aside, that is my favorite Prince album.

For the record, Musicology was great in my opinion, and 3121 was even better (I have yet to hear his newest, but I'll check it out later today).
