Actually pac was not number 1....Run DMC was with Public Enemy at 2...the only thing nice about this list was that It wasnt a 1, 2 Biggie pac spiel (although they were 3 and 4) if I remember correctly (I saw this a year ago) Eminem was before Rakim. Huh? And thats not even the biggest problem with the list...Nelly, DMX,Puffy, etc before De La Soul...How can the most consistant group in hip hop only be 10 spots in front of MC Hammer. Tribe/Busta were neck and neck with Nelly cause you know The Low End Theory/Midnight Marauders arent shit compared to Country Grammar....Mos Def and kweli? nowhere on the list. Gangstar gets shafted with a position in the 40's....the Roots behind Master P...Its an awful list....Tone Loc? Tone Loc? Why?

I will say it again: MC HAMMER, TONE LOC, ARRRESTED DEVELOPMENT?????

No MOBB DEEP, MOS DEF, TALIB KWELI, KOOL KEITH, etc.............and the biggest travisty, PUFF DADDY at #14.........like sure PUFF DADDY is a big star..........I can see maybe putting him at 50 or something, just due to him being a big star......but 14, dude made a career of remaking old songs.....

It is almost like there were 2 guys making this list.......one guy knows about hip hop, and the other guy has no fuckin clue about hip hop other than what he saw on MTV HITS......

....its like they wanted to appeal to the hip hop fan (Gang starr, WU TANG), and at the same time appeal to a person who knows very little about hip hop (people who know PUFF DADDY, JA RULE, MC HAMMER)

Like there are alot of good mc's on the list......but the order of the list is totally fucked........what do you expect from VH1 though.......

that list was fucked up, but for real, Jay-Z is the most overrated mother fucker alive, i dont care if you like him, no body can name on contribution he had in rap, not one, to see him above sooooo many people was ridiculous. (p.s. and don't say reasonable doubt cause that's like the sam's club soda version of illmatic and cuban linx combine.)

sure I agree 100%.............but when a dude comes out saying that JAY-Z has not done one thing ever that has contributed to rap and does not deserve to be on the top 50 of all-time.......sounds like a hater.......like you cannot like JAY-Z, but saying dude has not contributed anything to rap over his career, like come on now......JAY-Z deserves to be on the list if you like him or not

Like I dont think JAY-Z lowered himself to fuckin WILL SMITH and Lil BOW WOW collabos like SNOOP DOGG has done the last 3-4 years
