I just copped Ableton Live 7 this past week, after using fl studio for literally all of my production all I can say is WOW!! Live is the way to go it has everything you need and its user friendly. I've used Reason and Acid in the past Ableton just does everything I need its a samplers dream plus you can implement VST into your setup if you are a composer. If I was you I would pick up FL Studio learn the basics for production and then switch over once you have a general idea on how to produce music, Fl studio can do everything and its user friendly I just switched to Ableton Live because it seems to do everything I need on the fly. If you check the links I have below all the beats I made then was done in FL studio, apropos with the statement above its not what you use but how you use it..

live is more versatile and has more options and features the creative control is endless.
If your one of those tweak heads the program is a beast many ways to sample say I want to chop my samples up like you do on a nn-xt in reason no problem assign my chops to the key zones on the Sampler. If I want to bang out my beat mpc style assign my chops to the Impulse thats just two ways. Going back from session view to arrangement view is real simple, routing things also is fun and simple to do. I really can't explain it in full detail check out http://www.ableton.com/live. http://www.ableton.com/pages/movies/movies download the demo check it out. It takes some time getting used to its not your average daw like a day. After a couple sessions you will understand it. check out how these people use live its crazy Kid Beyond http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8mlSWWZ9zQ Moldover's whole approach to controllerism. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2McDeSKiOU you can also rewire live to other daws. If you enjoy doing things live shit is bananas Im still geting the hang of it Rome wasn't built in a day.. Last edited by 360beatz; 02-15-2008 at 01:36 AM. |
