Wolverine Gets His Gambit

Written by Silas Lesnick Tuesday, 19 February 2008 Add another mutant cameo to next summer's Wolverine; The Cajun card-thrower Gambit!

We've been hearing whispers for the past few days that Wolverine won't only feature an appearance by fan-favorite Gambit; the role's already been cast. The IESB has been able to confirm with studio sources that Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kitsch will be playing Remy LeBeau.

Now, it's long been said that producer Lauren Shuler Donner wanted LOST star Josh Holloway in the role but it looks like they've gone with a younger approach.

Gambit first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #255 back in 1990 and has been particularly popular among fans due in no small part to his prominence in the 90's X-Men animated series. Hailing from New Orleans, Gambit has the ability to control kinetic energy, "charging" objects to the point of instability. He can turn just about anything into an explosive device and his weapon of choice is a deck of playing cards that he throws like bombs.

I met this older cat that siad he invented gambit:

True story,

When he was younger he siad he sent a home made comic with bio's of characters and shit to marvel.

His gambit was a chinese dude that charged up playing cards with "Chi" energy and through them and he fought with a bo staff.

A month later "Gambit" came out.

i think stephen dorff would have been a better choice. still good to see gambit coming out. he shouldve came out in x men 3
