Jay Chandrasekhar and Paul Soter of cool comedy troupe "Broken Lizard" recently sat down with "Movieweb" and dropped some pretty great news on a SUPER TROOPERS sequel that they're currently scripting. Here's a taste: The big picture is that we are on the Canadian Border. And in reality, what has happened is that the government has found places where the markers were off, or wrong. And there are these areas of land that were thought to be Canada, but are actually part of the US. We are enlisted to patrol this area that was always thought to be Canadian soil. But no, it is actually the United States. We are enlisted because they have to send someone there to help make it part of the US territory now. We get recruited to be the highway patrolmen there. And we are surrounded by all of these Canadian people that aren't happy about this. We essentially have to impose US law on a bunch of Canadians that aren't at all happy about it. [/color]

Bourne 4 in 2011
BOURNE franchise producer Frank Marshall recently tweeted a 2011 release date for the upcoming BOURNE 4, which means that it'll be a long goddamn time before we get to see the amnesiac superspy kick the shit out of nameless, beefy, exotic baddies, while considering banging Julia Stiles since she kinda reminds him of his first love Marie. fast and furious 5 FAST AND FURIOUS was supposed to be the end of the franchise. The big stars would come back for their swan song and that would be that. Then the film came out, grossed over $200 million worldwide in 10 days and immediate talks of another sequel began. But would stars Paul Walker and Vin Diessel return for another installment? Walker was on 104.3 MyFM out in LA and gave us some details on the fifth film. "Vin and I will be coming back, we’re making a fifth one, and we’re going to Brazil, that’s it,” Walker said. No word on what FAST AND FURIOUS: BRAZILIAN WAX might be about but does it really matter? I didn't even really know what FAST AND FURIOUS was about until about two weeks before it opens. It has Vin Diesel and Paul Walker and really fast cars and they chase dudes and stuff. |

Rambo 5
While he works on editing his latest film THE EXPENDABLES, Sylvester Stallone has gotten the greenlight on his next project, RAMBO 5. Nu Image/Millennium Films, the financiers behind 2008's RAMBO, gave the film a greenlight with Stallone again directing the sequel . Though Stallone had previously hinted that a new RAMBO film might jump genres (leading to this article at JoBlo.com where we speculated on who Rambo would battle), it's pretty standard fare for the fifth installment. Think of it like RAMBO meets TAKEN. John Rambo will battle his way through human traffickers to rescue a young girl. Instead of heading overseas though, Rambo will be battling by the US/Mexico border. Though Nu Image/Millennium (the company also behind THE EXPENDABLES) are returning, it's unclear whether Lionsgate will again distribute the film. It would seem likely though as they've worked together on Stallone's last two films. RAMBO is expected to begin production next spring after Stallone wraps promotion
for EXPENDABLES. |
