I heard a rumor that Crass turned into neo nazis. What is the truth to this if any?

Crass was great. Well, they were pretty awful, but in a great way. They got more arty and abstract as they went on, and I think my favorite Crass song is on "Yes Sir, I will."

"What do you know, what do you care." It's completely unlike anything you'd expect to hear from Crass. It's incredible, lyrically and musically, and Steve Ignorant's voice is actually pleasant.

This was a rumor among some skins that I knew way back so...

Crass was never a favorite of mine. There was some album that I really liked. Of course ,now that I am going thru a punk rock revival , I might hear them differently.

....what should I DL???

btw , did you ever like or like even still , the Subhumans? I got into the subhumans bigtime back in the day. Cradle to the Grave was my shit and what was the other I liked....Worlds Apart I think. I had them shits on vinyl and played the shit outta them and then sold em yrs later to go eat chinese food with my friends.

btw , did you ever like or like even still , the Subhumans? I got into the subhumans bigtime back in the day. Cradle to the Grave was my shit and what was the other I liked....Worlds Apart I think. Crass was like the alternative to the less radical skinhead bands going on at the time. But all of these bands are crucial. Cock Sparrer, Business, 4 Skins, the first Skrewdriver LP (and the next couple Skrewdriver releases if you can stomach the racial bullshit). I might upload a comp I have that is pretty much some of the best and most important skinhead/oi bands in England in the early 80s.

There were also peacepunk bands like Crass such as Conflict or whatever, but they don't really do it for me.

1 - From the Cradle to the Grave
2- Worlds apart

I cant find them for DL but those two are must haves.

The drummer was.............OK, gave most of their songs a marchy, military type feeling to it, but I guess with bands like Crass you're supposed to be paying more attention to the lyrics anyways. I like em.... "So What" is probably my favorite song by em..

subhumans are great, The EP LP and The Day The Country Died are also good

and crass are great, their cover art is the best
