does any one still use these, whut are they for? i have a stack of alledged unused ones n i was wondering if i can back up my stuff to a floppy disk? n if so how do i do this?

lol unless what you're trying to back up is small as hell they're useless. I don't even think computers come with floppy disk drives anymore. I know my laptop doesn't have one.

in good ol days you could split a 15mb rar file compressed 3 different ways and use three floppys to transfer shit but this was back when it was hard to get the internet inhome and 80mb albums were unheard of in the downloding world...

Floppy disks are still useable. I don't think many computer makers usually put floppy disk drives in computers anymore, but you can have them added on for a small fee when you're buying a computer. Skamp, haven't you ever used a floppy disk before?

Those disks were always suspect to viruses. Or just being damaged. I remember being them at high school 10 years ago to download pictures and audio files on from the internet. Mostly form South Park. And then take them home. Imagine that, being happy with 1 MB of pictures, or a small audio file that has Cartman singing: "In the ghetto, on a cold grey Chicago morn, another little baby child is born, in the ghetto, in the ghetto. -Ow, there is Kenny's House."

i only used floppy's for holding midi files and porn back in the day..anyone remember that shit. before there was real audio tracks online, peeps used to take a song and create a midi version through a keyboard so it sounded wack as fuck but that was te best they could do..
