Best Martial Artist
I wanna hear your thoughts and opinions on y'r favorite martial artists from the big screen.
We all know Bruce Lee is like the God of famous martial artists,and sure,we gotta respect the man for his powerfull skills. but he received the title of Best Martial Artists and it ocured to me that in his movies he practically only uses Jeet-Kun-Do? Now, in my opinion, based on that info he couldn't possible be the best martial artist right? I mean, when I look at artists like Jackie Chan,Jet Lee,Sammo Hung, Michelle yeoh etc....they all use various styles,the quick effective kung f styles like drunken,mantis,snake,crane,dragon etc.......I never seen Bruce Lee pull of moves like that. My favorite martial artist must be Sammo Hung, his techniques are marvelous, uses the craziest styles u could imagine.

I agree..
but Bruce didn't have or use any style.... he created his own it was his way of life.. his philosophy and determination that makes him a legend... I got some really cool drunken style kunfu videos at home.. ill download them this weekend for ya 09... |

sammo hung is cool....
his face expression are funny and he can move for a guy his size.... Loved him in -the magnificent butcher-... but Bruce Lee will always stay on the top of my list... I'll upload some bruce lee interviews too if u want guys... |

early jackie chan when he did movies like rumble in the bronx, van damme when he did movies like kickboxer, bloodsport and lionheart, tony jaa, bruce lee, jet li...

Right now I'm practicing Lau Kam Kung-Fu. It has all the great animal styles in it also including Drunken Master and Praying Mantis as advanced techniques (wich I haven't recahed ofcourse).
I never saw Lau Kam kung-fu used by an asian actor before that's why i got interested.

tony jaa is my favourite at the moment, muay thai has to be the best martial art in my opinion

jeet kun do isnt a particular 'style' the concept of JKD is to use any style relevant to the situation. and is all about effectiveness, without wasting energy. so there is no defense, the offense IS the defense.
for example, when the enemy kicks you, instead of blocking the kick with your hand, you would counter kick that. so what that is doing is blocking and attacking at the same time. so none of your movement was a waste. Bruce Lee was a Genius waaaaaaay ahead of our time. Jeet Kun Do means "The Interception of The Fist." meaning you intercept the attack with your attack. Brilliant. |
