La The Darkman?

I'm familiar with La and his body of work. But does anybody have more of his story when it comes to The Clan? I already know he's in the Ice Cream video dancin and chilling next to Shyheim. Is he just a young kid from the neighborhood who the Wu noticed had skill? How does a 20 year old kid in '98 end up with an LP like Heist of the Century? He's got True Master, 4th Disciple, Havoc, and RZA doing production. Then he's got Rae, U-God, MK, and Havoc giving verses, and Ghostface doing a hook.

The LP is better quality than some of the Generals solo projects.

In the late 90's the Wu-Brand was everywhere, you had Sunz of Man, Killarmy, Royal Fam, GP Wu, Shyheim, Northstar, Holocaust... it was crazy.

BUT nobody outside of the Clan themselves was blessed like La was.... why?

A bunch of those dudes were dope as fuck back then, but they weren't blessed like La. And you're right that is the real question, that's part of the reason why I'm asking all this. How can the dude put out a near classic album like that in 98 in the do absolutely for 14 years?

i agree, however, let me add on that the show i did with him 2 years ago where he barely even rapped and was shit drunk..he walked away with 10k for a 25 minute set...now u do the math and u will know why he aint even bothered with an album

It's a shame then that he's more focused on just getting paid than making albums, an mc of his calibur is better than just being a mixtape rapper.
