Raekwon : G Hide - What are your thoughts on this track?

When this track first came out I wasn't so keen on it, since at the time I felt Rae came pretty average, being heavily outshined by Ghost. Even more so, when I found out that this was possibly for CL2, I was a bit doubtful as to how the album would turn out.

However, over the last several months this track really grew on me. The beat is well produced by Necro, and both Rae n Ghost complement each other here, coming correct on the joint. On a good system this joint sounds quite ill, the bass is definitely knocks.

How do people here feel about this track now? Do any of you feel it is worthy of being on CL2, even though we know it is just 1 of em 'taster tracks' or whatever he calls em.

Actually I gotta fall back and say no I wouldnt like it on CL2, but its still a good track.

It dont have the 'special' factor though. Its missing a lil something. Still good to smoke to though.

movie sample, off key bassline, understated melody, sparse drums... the beat is everything i wanna hear in a CL2 track. but a low-key track like this should sit comfortably somewhere in the middle of the album where it's just supposed to keep the vibe of the album going, keep you in that cuban linx zone.

i like the verses. rae's on his don flow with his typically heavy use of slang while ghost hits us with a verse that can sit next to projects, strawberry, and wildflower as one of the most graphic he's ever written. really what's not to like?

and yeah i think it's worthy of being on CL2 -- if all the the tracks on the album are of this quality and better than i think it would be an amazing album

Well the great news is its NOT going to be on CL2. It was strictly an appetizer track like Baggage Handlers to give the people to let us know how CL2 is going to sound, Rae has said this in a interview.

please keep it off. Rae's verse is boring, ghost's verse is just gay, and the beat is a sleeper tho decent, at most. real forgettable song, i doubt anyone listened to it the week after it got leaked or whatever.

anyway, as a (free) track that's just supposed to give you an idea of the vibe of the album i find it hard to imagine wu fans being disappointed with this. throw this one together with a handful of other mixtape tracks he's dropped in the past 3 years and you'd have one of the best post-wuforever albums.
