U not supposed to wash it for like 2 weeks after it is first done.

Depends on if you wanna do it rasta style or salon style. Either way is bong. If you wanna do it rasta style and ur white, you need some dread wax for ur hair and thats it, just leave it the fuck alone for 3 years.. the maintaining comes once they form....if you want salon style (which is just as nice) you start gettin ur hair twisted when its about 2 1/2 - 3 inches in length....go 2 a hood salon and have them twist ur shit up.... then leave it in for 2 weeks wash it out and do it again...you'll be goin thru this process for a couple months, until ur hair is trained to curl comin straight out tha root...if u white it may take longer cuz black hair naturally curls but yea....thats dreads in a nutshell
