I think its a metaphor for everything to come in the bible.
Think about it. God gave man everything he needs and wants. And it's true. We have the world, we have freedom and we have eachother. but we wanted more. the more people wanted, the less they had and the more they needed and the more the wanted the further from god they went they lost that freedom in a search for freedom that was already there they lost the world in an attempt to take the world they already had we lost each other in an attempt to be with each other. it ties to a buddist daoist and rastafarian philosophy that says we have everything we want and need and our suffering comes from wanting more. that's the core of buddism, a theme in daoism and the entire point of rastafarian philosophy (our 'steps forward' and 'progress' are really steps backwards and away from the truth') but then again they could have LITERALLY meant all that shit in genesis happened, idk, i do know that as a metaphor its really good. |

u str8 ...taoist and daoist is the same.
i believe all of the old testament is metaphor and revelations is a drug induced hallucination. just like many "witchdoctors" have done since the beginning. is this exile from the garden of eden you talkin about? or genesis as a whole? what u think about stories of babel, tree of knowledge and creation? was man meant to be ignorant of himself and live as animals do? without knowledge of sin?

"The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish."
