I actually think that Paul going to the Knicks would be huge, because thats the missing piece for the Knicks. A point guard to run the show. If they get one, whether its Paul or someone else, they'll be true contenders.

i dont really think its a point gaurd that ny needs. billups was still a more than serviceable point gaurd. their problems are their two best players just want to shoot all the time and want someone else to play their defense for them.

howard would be the player that really transforms the knicks. lets amare play pf. melo play sf. and dwight does all that defensive shit those two dont want to do.

And Billups is pretty washed up. In his prime he would have helped.


Paul is a true leader though, and would be operating the offense. He'd get on those guys to play harder.

he is underrated, maybe not, but as far as being a fierce competitor.

Howard and Amare wouldn't have been a good co-existence, in my opinion.

Its the same reason the Magic didnt go with Shaq and Webber.

Chandler compliments him better because he will be teh defensive presence in the middle and clean up amare's mistakes.


Everyone thinks the Heat are going to waltz through the East again, but if Dwight goes to NJ and Paul to NY, than it will be anything but a guarantee.

The Clippers and Warriors are the main two left trying to get Paul, but it doesn't look like he's going anywhere.

The Celtics picking up David West. I think they will will be one of the teams that goes further than the Heat in the playoffs. If the Heat played in the west, they would get their asses handed to them, just like the Mavs did in the finals.

The only reason these superstar players get away with what they do is because teams dont want to lose them for nothing, and the market for their services via trade is thinned out because the majority of teams know said player won't resign with them.

And even if you want to "rent" a player for a year, you'd have to give up too much and its not like baseball where you can send over some high level minor league prospects.



But NBA players are the most spoiled crybabies in a culture(pro sports) loaded with crybabies and prima donnas.

Why is the NBA the worst? because they get the most, they're he most overpaid and its all guaranteed.



If I was Golden State or the Clippers I wouldnt trade for Paul. Its obvious he has an agenda.


Long term, I'm not quite sure how long the collective bargaining agreement is for, but this is bad for the NBA because if things remain the same, there is just going to be another lockout.

I thought they prematurely agreed on a deal (the owners). They should have held out for the year and got exactly what they wanted.

i dont get why basketball has guaranteed contracts? eliminating those would pretty much ensure these guys who just mail it in continue to work for the massive amounts of cash they are being paid to play a game.

I agree...they should get signing bonuses and after that year to year.

I guess their union fought for that.

What they need is a base salary with incentives clauses. For all of them.

Or at least certain checkpoints taht a player must reach before the extra money kicks in.


Like I said before, I thought the owners were dumb to agree to anything.
