No limit was far more talented than Cash Money or anyone out of the south gives them.
Mystikal, Fiend, Mia X, MAC, and Big Ed could go toe to toe with any rapper of that era and today. |

It's really not a contest. NL had Young Bleed, Mac, Fiend, Soulja Slim, Mr. Marcelo & Mystikal. CM had Juvenile, BG & UNLV.

Old School Cash Money was dope as fuck. They dropped mad gold.
No Limit and Cash Money were both wack for the most part, but Cash Money was wack in a beautiful, genius kind of way. Although, old school Young Bleed is some of my favorite shit. Mystikal was pretty dope too, but as a whole, I never really got into that bullshit. And despite their subject matter and frequent nonsense, all 3 of the hot boyz spit fire at times. They may not have been consistent, but on occasion, they all ripped shit. Manny Fresh made dope beats. Obviously, not a great rapper, but he was consistent. He always rapped the same verse, essentially, but it was OK. Baby was kind of shitty, but he was also il at times, like when he says "Truly Beautiful" or sings "That's Lovely." They made ill songs that were catchy as fuck, they made girls at parties girate their asscheeks on your dills because of their dope beats, and they were still grimey. Hot Boyz were ill. BIg Tymers cds were aweful and yet great at the same time. And the Wayne, Juve, and BG all put out solid solos. Especially Juve. Old School No Limit was similar in strategy, but diluted with shitty off-shoots. And I was never a Master P fan, as a rapper. I guess it depends on personal opinion, but as a unit, Im all about early Cash Money.

although i dont fuck wit him at all, mannie fresh deserves waaay more respect in tha hip hop world... even at a young age i was always amazed at how he was making modern beats from scratch.. never taking anything from other artists or directly sampling... he is tha epitome of a "producer"...
bump mannie fresh

Yeah Mannie Fresh is very underrated still. Who is better? My knowledge on both is very limited but Juvenile takes it for me outta da lot.
I loved that 504 Boyz tune "Wobble, Wobble" - that was my shit! |
