Peep game, yesterday I posted a thread asking everyone for their top 5 producers. I saw a lot of pete rock, j dilla, 4th disciple, madlib, mathmatics ect. So i got to thinking about two in particular, Jay dee and Madlib. Both have very similar styles and make great music. The question is who is better, J dilla or Madlib? Im talkin beat for beat who is the better producer in your opinion?
Build on it!

When listening to Madlib, you learn to appreciate music outside of Hip-Hop.

J Dilla straight up.
I love his earlier, jazzy shit more than his 2000 stuff (donuts was great though).

dilla all day man, that guy takes his samples and flips it too good. The bass and treble and all of that in his music is just the icing on the cake.
best producer of all time ! |

TBH Dilla started sounding like Madlib after the Jaylib album. Donuts is extremely Madlib-like in execution. ITS TOO HARD TO DECIDE!
Madlib has produced better front to back albums than Dilla but some of Dillas beats crush anything Madlib has done. |

definitely can't decide though, on my top 5 list I put dilla as 1 and madlib as 3, behind RZA but on any given day those positions might switch
