This question has been floating in my mind for a while.
Do you guys hate it, cause you can't relate to the topics? Do you appreciate the approach Nas is making towards hip-hop? Or do you see it as "Just another nas album"? Enlighten me gawds.

Just another (Dissapointing) Nas album.
Hope his next solo album hasn't got a theme, like HHID or 'Nigger'. |

Of course I can't relate to the topics, but it often does that for me in rap.
When I hear rappers talking about taking drugs, using guns, I don't do that shit, but I can still appreciate the music. So I don't hate it because of that, but maybe it didn't help indeed. For your question "Do you appreciate the approach Nas is making towards hip-hop?", I think it as nothing to do with beeing black or white. Nas is an artist, a black artist, making his own choices. I don't mind his approach, as long as the music is still good. I really saw Nigger as just another nas album. I didn't really had a choice since I wanted to have a chance to be objective with the album. It was "conceptual", and I have to say I didn't really like it. Because I'm white? Maybe. But I try to be objective, and I didn't really appreciate the music.

So you're saying that HHID and Nigger are just albums with shock value titles. Hmm...I can't agree with that, seeing as Nas actually stayed on topic through 90% of those albums tracks. Quote:
Every other song touches on being black in America and where we're at today. I realize how some white people can see this as just an average Nas album since the lyrics arn't as hard-hitting to them as it is for us.
