I have a fucking mountain of books I wanna get through, a lot of them non-fiction, so I don't really wanna spend time reading random titles just to discuss dem on here. If somebody names something I'm interested in reading I'll try to participate though.

Which was decent, but not of the same quality as the book.

Have you seen the Less Than Zero movie? Worst book to film adaptation I've ever seen. Pretty much the only thing the 2 have in common is the name of the characters. The main character is like the opposite of what he is in the book. I was sickened by it.

From my experience it's actually the case 100% of the time. Obviously film is much more limited than literature.

On a side note, no diss to these types, but I find it humouress how some dude will read like 1 book a year, or less, and then recommend it to an avid reader as if the avid reader is not already familiar with an endless plethora of attractive previously unread titles...lolz.

I haven't seen Less Than Zero because i read awful reviews of it initially. Although, lately i was looking at Roger Ebert's page and he spoke favourably about it, so maybe i should just watch it anyway.

Some book to film adaptations are good, but i agree, they are always limited.

It's difficult to compare across mediums though.

i ignored all the snark in this thread, but on the subject of book to film adaptations, the best i have seen is A Scanner Darkly, perfect novel to film adaptation, only jettisoning the completely non essential material.
