There are some who say Islam is Mathematics and Mathematics is Islam.

The study of the measurement, properties, and relationships of quantities and sets, using numbers and symbols.

The systematic treatment of magnitude, relationships between figures and forms, and relations between quantities expressed symbolically.

Is this what Islam is?

1. Mathemetics is the language of Nature.

2. Everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers.

3. If you graph the numbers of any system, patterns emerge.

.....therefore, there ARE patterns, everywhere in Nature.

it's a fictional movie. the original research was done by stan tenen. that research was distorted and repurposed by dan winter, whose "work" in turn inspired the movie pi.

Yes, the replay vaule on it is disturbingly low and the plot wasn't taken to the heights that it should've been taken to. However, it brought up some very, very interesting points, which is why I mentioned it on the subject. I say rent it and burn it if anything.

How is mathematics the language of the universe when mathematics didn't always exist? The universe always existed, but not mathematics.

Mathematics is the language of the universe as far as man is concerned. Its the only science thats exact!. if you think about every aspect of one's life math is involved one way or another.
