Default anybody feels that Ghost should've waited with Fishscale

just like Rae did with OB4CLII?

if he released it when he did Big Doe Rehab and combined the best tracks, that shit would've been classic [and still he could save the Doom tracks for Swift & Changeable]

you know, if he really put the time, not just the effort

he had like Dilla's, Pete Rock's, Just Blazeeeee .... really dope list and really dope beats too, I just think all of those albums were rushed for nothing actually. ok, I understand that he makes his albums with love and all, but he makes them too fast. I made my own version of Fishscale with jewels like Walk Around and Alex, it would've been pretty much one of the most original and flavourful mainstream releases- too many average wu tracks otherwise

but ok

I really like when Ghost puts his mind into his material, like Walk Around...there are tracks like this, but I can't remember tracks with such good storytelling and full of emotions

in one way, yes.. he could easily have one of the best albums of the decade that way but at the same time he's been pretty consistent and dropping good (but not spectacular) albums every year or so. i'm enjoying all 3 of those LP's and i can always make my own playlist (although i don't lol) so it's really either way..

I liked Fishscale a lot. And More Fish as well. Really wasn't feeling BDR as much. But i'm glad he released Fish when he did.

i was always saying that. he could have dropped a mega fishscale combined out of regular fishscale, more fish and BDR diamonds (Walk around)

but @ the same time, he'd face the sales crisis..... raekwon's potential 60-150k today= 200k or more in 2005.......

^^ Yea, Fishscale sold pretty well. 300k+ I think. Sadly I think that's the last Wu related album that ever reaches that number. But yea a combo of Fish & More Fish would've been tight. But I'm a big fan of both though.

no. for one, he's not 25 anymore. as long as he's inspired to make music he should continue making and releasing it. he can worry about packaging it later. if anything he can release informal collections of tracks, like the coke raps, DOOM tracks, or RnB tracks from the def jam era -- maybe complete with skits or extra tracks -- in the future.

i dunno. the long player format is dead but shit like memory man's cuban revolution proves that it doesn't matter since tracks can be remixed, resequenced, and recontextualized.

and if we're talking about from a practical/business standpoint then there's no doubt that ghost made the right move releasing 5 albums in 5 years instead of the 1 in 5 that rae's struggled with.

Gotta agree wit you on this one. These threads are becoming predictable and boring. Shit if you wanna talk about "waiting" he should have waited for Big Doe. Man that album was Bozo and Cookie rolled all up in one, corny as hell.

true. Ghost is just better at making albums than Rae, and still better than most of them NY cats. I was just thinking about alternative history and how would the Wu be praised if they come up together for Fishscale since a lot of Wu fans here only care about Wu's renaissance
