The Virtua Boy... heres a small thing I found online about it...

The Nintendo Virtual Boy

This awful device was actually released by Nintendo in the late nineties as a sort of new breed of gaming console. It was a 3D machine that ran on batteries. So it was portable, but had to rest on a stand, so it was less portable then you'd think.

Interestingly enough, the batteries were contained in the controller, rather then the actual unit. Which tells me that Nintendo had originally planned to make the Virtual Boy a head mounted display, but just couldn't get it small enough to work that way. Thus they opted for the mount at the last minute.

The overall 3D effect did work, however the unit used only one color, a laser like red which causes headaches. Also, because the graphics were only one color, detail was very limited. The Virtual Boy came out at a $150 price point, but was soon dropped to a $20 clearance at Toys R Us. Only a dozen games were made.

yeh i was litteraly the first personto try it out legitimally in denver....
shit sucked i had mario tennis on it and all it was, was red lines...like lasers that made up the entire scene, rest was black.......it was dumb

haha, my friend had one of those virtual boys when we were kids, we used to play this boxing game, couldnt get past the 2nd guy.

Without Halo and Halo 2, Xbox would suck, but it has the best graphics but that doesnt say anything. PS 2 for rpgs and stratagies, Xbox for FPS and best graphics (PS2 has the worst out of the current three) and Gamecube for the most multiplayer and most addictive, except Halo 2. Mario Kart and Smash Bros. I could be on that shit for hours.
