Since many of us are having political/philosophical discussion, I wanted to note that my calls for revolution are firstly a move of self-defense against a government of repression, and my views of socialism are that to restore the conscious will of human beings to live in dignity alongside one another in solidarity.

I think it's important to base this discussion off of Malcolm X' famous speech on the House and the Field Negro. He relates life in the plantation to the political atmosphere of upto the 60s, a repression which continues to exist today (although in a more covert economic form).

He used this effective analogy to explain the positions of the toiling, oppressed blacks who were more open to the ideas of self-defense and revolution, against that of the privileged blacks and whites who would Tom their way into attempting to calm the former.

Malcolm: "We still have some house negros today ... I'm a field negro."

Towards the last year of his life, Malcolm openly called for an anti-capitalist revolution (one can see his ideological progression stemming from his empiricism with books like "By Any Means Necessary").

With this very applicable analogy, let's launch into a topic of revolution and counter-revolution.

me personally im more of an anarchist.

i think the world government is going to be socialist and america is turning into a socialist country. the copenhagen treaty and the new health care plan proposal are indications of this.

I m against both

But right now Im pushing to restore the constitutional republic because i think this is the best way for progressive change at the moment. Its what made america the greatest most prosperous country on earth in its glory days.

Brother I understand where you're coming from. Listen to the speech (if you haven't), like you and I, he viewed the American revolution and its 'constitutional republic' (anti-colonial victory) as a necessary progressive one which was based on land and gaining economic emancipation from its oppressor - a revolution which he believed the oppressed (blacks) of today could derive a lesson from.

Malcolm never called for socialism, I don't mean to give that impression. Yet he was influenced by Marxist thinkers like Fanon, and praised the socialist revolutions of Russia and China.

However, even to be an anarchist one must be a revolutionary. I am, as some would say, "a socialist today so I can be an anarchist tomorrow."

Black Panthers had a chapter in every state within the contintental US, many with the following:

- Breakfast club program
- Free medical clinic + ambulance
- Free clothes/shoes drives
- Door-to-door sickle-cell anoema program
- Voter registration drives
- Busrides to prison program (for visitors)
- Free weekend taxi service for seniors

Funny how a group of organised vanguard-party socialists were able to provide more for their communities than the state even cared to pretend to.

The Panthers were very popular among 1960s critical-thinking blacks for the same reason Hezbollah/Hamas is popular with the Palestinians/Lebanese (as wack as these two groups are) they still provide their people with a lot of social programs that the capitalist could not achieve, and called for self-defense of all peoples oppressed at the hands of imperialist aggression.

i'll just go back to nigeria. and i'd rather by hungry in the ghetto then getting free clothes unless they're REALLY fresh, but then everyone else is getting them and it will defeat the purpose of dressing and mating with materialistic women which is what brings me joy in life. At the same time, ppl that are starving in the ghetto are the freshest in america. i don't want free clothes.

why do you think what you happen to think is best for everyone is what's best for everyone. it's an oppressive dictators mentality you know.
