More brilliance. Meth on fire again as was True but it would be unfair not to say that Cappa held his own on this lp.

The only song from this album that survived my "WTF is this wack shit?!" mp3 purge. This beat has a laid back swagger which is very poppy but still glides. Cappa sounds perfect on it, lagging behind the beat in a bluesy way, almost similar to B.I.G. He's straddling that line between spitting directly on the downbeat like Ice Cube, and his own ridiculously bad "lets turn the beat off and see what happens" timing, which I can't even listen too.
The sound of Meth's hook is the sound of a hook master at work, not even breaking a sweat. Its so effortless and so smooth, it really takes the song from banger to classic imo. |
