If you're thinking about that battle where Eyedea's opponent says "when I rhyme they applaud, when you rhyme they wanna clap you" then it isn't RZA, it's Pack FM who just happened to sound very similar to RZA in that particular battle. As far as I know, Eyedea and RZA have never battled, although as much of a RZA fan as I am, Eyedea would murder him.

it happens a few times I hear them spit something they didn't write, but not much...

Just because you hear a freestyle before a song doesn't mean that the song was derived from the freestyle.

MOST rappers, use lines from songs that they haven't come out with yet to get them started on a freestyle they do on radio shows.

If they can't build off those one or two lines, then they commence to spittin that written rhyme that nobody knows exists except them.

I had Method Man's first album Tical, on a mixtape months before it came out. Most of the songs from that album he spit in freestyles before Tical saw the light of day.

True indeed, Big L said it himself on the Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito radio show back in 97. He said he that "free" ready for anyone on the block who wanted to battle. That show was pretty funny, especially with L being there.
