Someone explain (with link proof) why Guru and DJ Premier were no longer friends.
I can't find online where it states the reason DJ Premier and Guru no longer were friends and why Guru let Solar "take over" his life.
 Link anyone? Just to clarify the situation. |

Premier never had beef with Guru. All of the problems seem to come from Guru's end and apparently Solar's been puttin shit in his head about Premier holding him back and that Guru is Gangstarr, not Premier.

whoa whoa whoa let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, dont forgot a couple of months back guru posted up a gangstarr reunion maybe he wanted to link things for the better, but Premo's camp was quick to shut the "rumor" down. I heard alot of the beef came once THE OWNERZ was released. i dont wanna analyze to deep but r.i.p.

Ive never heard either of them mention why they wont talking but in interviews that i have seen when they ask Premier whats up with him and Guru he never even mentions a beef, he just says they doing their separate things for the moment. Ive also seen in numerous interviews Solar trying to downplay Gang Starr and suggesting Guru is doing better on his own because with Gang Starr Premier gets all the credit.

i remember the first thing i heard when they broke up shortly after "The Ownerz" was that Guru was mad pissed at DJ Premier because he co-signed and gave permit to that engineer to call himself 'Young Guru' (he works with Jay-Z alot and engineered Pete Rock's latest album amongst other things). don't know about the truth of this but i know there was alot of talk about that in like 2004/2005

Well, as far as I know, they broke up for the first time in 1997 but kissed and made out rather quickly. Then again in 2003. Who knows why, but Solar was either the instigator or extremely quick to capitalize on situation.

lets not forget, premo did stop working with a lot of the other artists he used to work with in the past, and it was usually money related, maybe its that, and this solar character confuses me, is he the same mc solar who raps in frnech or is this some other guy

anyone else think solar is a little full of shit? like if guru and primo got beef so be it, but in the alleged letter from guru he goes on forever with shit like my greatest legacy will is the work i have done with solar. when people hear guru they think gang starr and premier that's just fact, how many people didn't even know who solar was until guru got sick?
