I saw it last weekend and i was very disappointed because there was no action at all. Just a lot of talking and hardly any killing. Nicolas had some issues because he was a drug addict, gambler and he liked prostitutes. Eva was a prostitute in this and rapper Xzibit was a drug dealer. Val Kilmer is also in this. I recommend ya'll don't see this movie if you haven't seen it.

i was expecting to see something completely different but im going to give it another chance this week anyway cuz there isnt anything else to watch

i think they expected a generic 80s/early 90s style action movie rather than a more cerebral meditation on urban decay and the long dark tea-time of the soul.

i thought it was worth watching, cage put in one of his best performances in a while (maybe this and kick-ass signals a move away from commercial trash) and the cinematogrpahy was excellent.

"there was no action"--- are you a child? that's not a legitimate criticism for a movie that never pretended to be an action film. why don't i bash 'sophie's choice' because it wasn't porn. jeez.

The original film had no action, and while i know this wasn't really a sequel, it tackled similar themes.

i don't understand why 'slower' films and 'character studies' are anathema to some people.

the first bad lt was raw and gritty as fuck. one of the best crooked cops movies of all time. so when i heard about this, i really didnt know what to expect.

and when i first started watching it, i thought it was going to suck. really, really suck.

but then came the scene with the big ass lizard on the table, and i was won over.

while not as good as the other film that shares its name, this one is definitely not horrible. and like pandemic said, its one of nick cages best performances in a long time.
