Why is it that Jesus made the stuff up about the sacrifice being the bread and wine but the Catholics do this sacrifice ritual and dont worship Jesus.


Why do the Catholics not worship Jesus? I don't know who they focus the worship on but I know it isn't Jesus right?


I'm trying to figure out about the thing of eating the bread and drinking the wine.Thats still a form of sacrifice imo but I have it way twisted.


Can somebody please throw out some facts on this.

Wow...

Well to start, they do in fact worship Jesus, why did you think otherwise? Jesus is considered what amounts to an Avatar. So he is God, while at the same time he's a mortal shell. Then there is the Godhead which is the same as Jesus, however its not limited to being within Jesus. This is God as a universal entity. Then there is the holy spirit which is godliness.

So it's a trinity, but it's just one God. Just three different ways of observing it are given. To observe it in a physical sense (Jesus) to observe it in a metaphysical sense (Godhead) and to feel it within yourself (Holy Spirit.)

Or so my jist of it is, I haven't really been to Mass since I was a kid.

The wine and bread is the Communion (fellowship) Eucharist (thanksgiving). It's ceremonially sharing a meal with Christ. The same way he did at the last supper. Jesus said at the meal that when they eat bread to remember him, and when they drink wine to remember his sacrifice. Because that was what they were eating at their last meal together. The "this is my flesh, this is my blood" is just bad translation of a metaphor as far as I can tell.

Christians take it literally for some reason that he was actually suggesting that bread is meat and wine is blood. Definitely not what it meant.

What is it that started the hunt for Jesus like when they were out to get him to crucify him. What was it that they found him guilty of? I know that death was after him when he was a baby but he walked amongst the ppl for a period of time without a bounty on his head.

what was it that was the last straw?

I remember something about him being asked to confess to being the son of god and then he would not give a direct answer or the answer that they wanted to hear.

The issue when he was a baby was King Herod (A Jewish client king of Rome) was foretold in a prophecy that a baby would be born who would overthrow him (there are many similar prophecies in the ancient cycles, such as Perseus, Moses, and others) so Mary and Joseph went to Egypt out of his control and Herod killed all the boys (in the town of bethlehem mind you) under 2 years of age who fit the prophecy description, obviously failing to kill Jesus. They returned to Palestine when Herod died (not long after) Jesus went on to live in Palestine. They gave birth to him in a stable Nazareth which was on the way to Egypt.

The later issue was that he arrived in Jerusalem in accordance with another prophecy of the messiah. He rode a donkey into the city on a certain day and some other things. When he gets there he directly challenges the Levite priests (whose descendent's to this day are named Cohen) by effectively saying they have made The Temple dirty with their sinfulness. He calls them out for trying to make money off of the powers of god by selling sacrificial animals. In addition he freed all the animals, whipped the bankers, and overturned their tables.

"Get these out of here! Do not make My Father's house a house of merchandise!"

Pretty much he's directly calling out the religious leadership as crooks. So they declare him a traitor and a heretic and have him arrested by the Roman Governor Pontus Pilate who doesn't give a shit for the Jews in general and doesn't think Jesus did anything near worthy of an execution. But he can't just give him a slap on the wrist because the Kohen Gadol and the rest of the sanhedrin (Jewish Senate) felt insulted wanted Christ dead. So he let the common people choose which of 3 condemned men should be freed, and the people of Jerusalem picked a freedom fighter over jesus and thus jesus was killed.

big up to Jesus and yes I am all for where he came from but I am not Christian

imo Christianity is a lie and a trick. all religion to me is a trick.

once I was talking with a pastor and I asked him all kinds of things about the trinity and what not.life and all.

well he told me some things and basically Jesus was against religion imo

he fought for the truth and there is a law that is truth that we must live by but at the same time no one man can organize ppl together under that law for that man's benefit

i racked my brain for a few - can't figure that one out -

but imagine if the nazis had a serious plan -

when america came to "rescue" who they thought were jews, maybe they rescued the nazis instead - maybe they switch uniforms -

but the true practices are not easy to get a hold of - we can lay out the beliefs and all, but what really goes on is much more - i've seen some things, but not enough to thread it
