Can't lie, I'm tryna plug my shitty ass, don't-get-no-readers-ever blog. Anyway, this is where I talk about who I consider to be the best: http://peepwords.blogspot.com/2010/0...rs-emcees.html.
Who are your picks?

That's a nice post you did at your blog man, keep up the good work. It's good to write about how you feel about music because it's therapeutic and passes the time well. I appreciate the audio links you have to hear each song.
I would try using a different background color for your template, maybe lighter because the contrast between it and the type is kinda hard on the eyes. Keep checking for ways you can re-design your blog towards pro standards you see used by magazine companies websites like Time Inc., Hearst, Wenner Media, etc. Best Producer-Emcee is not a hard question to answer since this is a small, select group of people in hip hop, a specialized area of expertise. I agree with everybody's choices especially Havoc & RZA, the people mentioned in this thread stay in rotation on my iPhone, whether old or new music. ![]() I always thought Godfather Don was one of the best producer/MCs, he's one of those artists you had to dig for. Check his flows on Do My Thing, one of many great songs he put out on the underground: I think Pharoah Monch deserves props as a producer/MC from his 90's work. I love Behind Closed Doors and Queens off Internal Affairs along with the O.K. stuff.

No love for Del? And I'm surprised at the lack of people mentioning Q-Tip; smooth and intelligent as fuck when on the mic and funky as hell when behind the boards.
To add, I know I give props to the Beasties in almost every post I do, but I'm throwing them in there as well. All of the albums they produced themselves are musically incredible. I'm gonna throw Kanye in there as well for good measure, just because nobody's mentioned him yet.

my problem with eminem's beats is that most of them sound the same. it gets really repetitive after awhile.
