Default after-thoughts on Wu-Massacre....

I know everybody is trying their best to ignore it, but the most anticipated and popular Wu-related album dropped this year (unless GZA comes out with LS2), and we gotta take another look at it. like most people, I was hoping Rae would drop Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang this year, so we can all excuse Wu-Massacre, but it doesn't look like that's dropping in 2010.

yes, the album is still under 30 minutes, only ten tracks (minus two skits), and meth/ghost/rae only appear on three tracks together. ok, that's pretty stupid, but not all is lost. look at the pros: great album cover, showcased some bangin beats by Mathematics, and at least half the tracks are good (meth vs chef 2, miranda, pimpin chipp, gunshowers, dangerous). the last tracks, "it's that wu shit," is just an embarrassment.

I'd actually like to see a re-release of this album, but done RIGHT, meaning more tracks, and more wu-related producers. anybody interested in that? I know I'm not the only one who felt a bit cheated when the album dropped in march. this album had the potential of being a solid banger, but some people (def jam) fucked it up...

In my opinion it's a good album. Not exactly a legendary album but there are a few good joints on there - Dangerous, Gunshowers and Our Dreams being my favourites. Having said that, there is no denying that the length of it and how rushed the album is knocks it down a few notches.

Meth flow on some tracks is ill, gunshowers and our dreams got that bangin wu beats
but it's so short and with so many no-good tracks that you feel but about the lost meth-ghost-rae chance to send us to heaven.

criminolgy 2.5
meth vs. chef 2
gunshowers
miranda
made men

these are the tracks i listen to at all from this album. makes for an awesome EP. wu-massacre could've and should've been better if it didnt get fucked over and rushed by the label.

I think the best word to describe Wu-Massacre is an "Entertaining" album.Of course Meth,Ghost and Raekwon could do much better than this and not staying in that level. For me that's not the effort that i was looking from this joint. Before it was released i was super excited, especially with these 3 Great MCs,but when i listened to it i wasn't fully satisfied according to the result that these MCs could offer you.

The short lenght of the album makes it look like sketchy.

The one thing i cannot say about this album is the cover...

This album was wack. No cohesion, Its like a Myspace mixtape compared to some other Wu albums.

I do like Youngstown Heist though, that beat is fire.

it seems like they spent more time on the advertisement and album covers than they did on the actual music. those 3 movie trailers they released got everybody pumped up, including me, and then the album comes out and it's half-assed. RZA should've been executive producer on that album and given it a coherent vibe, added some kung-fu samples. every song on it feels like a single. none of it matches. they should give this shit another try, for real. had so much potential

I thought the album art was better than the album.

It's a good album, especially for Wu heads although to be honest I hardly listen to it anymore. I never really did other than maybe the first week or two.
