when you think about what he spits like, his style and all that, his list makes perfect sense. biggie had great bars but not really schemes like that. also a low body of work. pun also has low amount, but his shit is heavily in g rap's lane. i'm not mad at this list at all.

big pun is the greatest lyricist of all time. before he died, they should've locked him in a recording studio with 10 grimy beats, kfc, and a bag of funyuns...and the result would've been classic. better than Illmatic

Biggie was the epitome of an average lyricist.

The difference between art and craft.

Are you rating their use of words, vocal rhythms and concepts and all that horseshit that means nothing or are you going from your emotional reaction to music?

Some of these rappers are better craftists than artists.

This would suggest to me that realistically he couldn't give a flying fuck who the "top 10 lyricists" are and just comes up with some names when some knucklehead fuck asks him the cliche question.

bullshit biggie was "average". i don't think ready to die is 10/10 but he had enough material to be at least better than average.

and like charles said, putting jay z on a list without biggie is ridiculous.

Biggie had a smooth flow but far from the greatest ever plus he always came across as fake to me. I fucken can't stand jay-z either. Everyone always say these guys are the best so everyone puts them on thier lists. Rakim, pac and nas deffinetly deserve thier spot though.
