Default Could you trust another man who doesn't own a..

    Hammer
    tape measurer
    large adjustable wrench
    T-square
    Power drill
    bits
    Level
    Funnel
    Various saws
    Ratchet and socket set
    some rope
    Oil
    Gasoline
    matches
    twine
    a rake
    a shovel
    an owl
    a chisel
    duct tape
    a military grade tarp
assorted collections of nails and screws in a spare toolbox

These are basic things off the top of my head I own, and not related to my profession. I feel like this might be the most triggering of threads since we have people here who never played catch with their dad and got punched in the face for being gay then worked at a mall kiosk or an air-conditioned footlocker fresh out of highschool.

strangely enough, the other day i was thinking about how i don't own a T square and i should purchase one.

a couple other things every man should have...

    • a set of allen keys
    • one or 2 Purdy paintbrush. if you clean it properly, they will last you a lifetime
    • wd-40

and i would like to build (no pun intended) on owning a drill. and it can't be one of those shitty traditional drills with no power. every man should own an impact driver, preferably Dewalt with the slim batteries. (i admit i'm still rocking the dewalt with the old school big batteries.)

i also own 2 miter saws
    laser measure
    laser leveler
a commercial carpet cleaner (i don't even have carpet in my house)
a generator (strangely enough it was in my detached garage last power outage and i couldn't get to it)
an air compressor w/ nail gun
    and the pièce de résistance...

    A Bosch rotary hammer drill.

If you don’t know how to load a caulk gun, you might be a Progressive.

Being a 'handy guy' is just a hobby. I mean I literally haven't had a use for any of that stuff in years, I've borrowed a few things on the list and I call people in to fix anything serious, but that only happened one time.

I mean what are you using that stuff for? I'm sure that it must be to fix a problem that you've created because you like putting up ugly home made shelves, hanging up paintings of fishermen or burying hard drives in your back yard. Whats the rope for? You either own a boat or are waiting for the day it all becomes too much to deal with.

lol, actually i did just use a hammer and nails to hang up a painting i bought in Bermuda last year. i had forgotten all about it. i framed it and put it up in our office/spare bedroom.

i also recently used allen keys to tighten up our bedframe and a loose leg on our dining room table.

used a caulking gun and silicon to recaulk the bathtub

pressure washer to blast my dog's puke stains off the porch.

used a punch to field strip my rifle and a precision screw driver to change the trigger guard.

a friend of mine just recently bought a house to either rent or flip, so i was helping him do a little work... painting, installing windows, installed 2 light fixtures in the bathroom, a sliding glass door on his tub (got to use the hammer drill for that *argh argh*), cut and installed ceiling tiles.

i also quit using my tool box. i bought one of these contraptions...

What you guys know about that???

    What's the rope for?

Lol maybe in an ideal world it would be used to hang commies, but a normal use case would be tying something down on your vehicle roof.

Sometimes I forget Euro bois ride around on trains and buses.

my tools remind me of George Carlin's bit on stuff. You got your stuff spread out everywhere.

In my garage, i have tools in a toold box, in and on a workbench. i have my tool bucket and bag in the trunk of my car. i have tools in my house in a drawer and in a bag we threw together to have essentials for a road trip we took over the summer and my girl has her own cute pink tool bag with pink tools in the house which comes in handy for me so i don't have to go out to the garage or my car for a screw driver, hammer, tape measure or pair of pliers.

You know T$A is going to take this list to his local Walmart and buy all this shit and then tell all the interns at his company how adult he is for having this stuff and that they need to step up and get tools too.
